Diet advice for a female?

DEATH to "The Club Boys"!
My friend is about 5'5, probably about 140?

Anyways, she wants to lose 15 lbs in 3 months. Whats the best way for her to go about this? I am teaching her about why not to eat sugar and flour. And giving her a list of really clean foods to eat. Her goal is to just drop the weight, she's not looking to get muscles or any added size that I am aware of.

I told her to start a diet log so that she can see where she is doing good/bad and easily make the proper adjustments.

I was going to tell her to start eating about 2300 calories per day and up or lower the cals until she is losing about 1.5-2 pounds per week.

I am, also going to tell her to make sure her intensity during cardio is high for 20 min.

Any advice on what to tell her would be appreciated. Is there anything that I am about to tell her that I shouldn't?

Also, I am on the metabolic (anabolic) diet and seeing GREAT results. How is this diet for woman? I have found what works for me, but I want to help her as much as I can so that she can see her goal. I told her that if she has the drive to stay on a good diet, 15 pounds should be very easy to lose.

Thx

It sounds like you have given her very good advice, I would have her do lower intensity cardio for a longer duration, this seems to burn less muscle on a calorie restricted diet. I would try to insure that approx 50% of her calories are from lean protein sources. 10 x bodyweight in pounds is a good calorie level to lose rapid weight yet perserve muscle.

The Metabolic Diet would work great for her. I dunno about losing 1.5-2 lbs of fat a week, though. She's not THAT fat. 1 lb a week would be more reasonable.

fitday.com might be easier than her writing down everything.

I've heard about emtabolic diets, don't know much about it, can anyone elaborate ? what kind of foods do u eat on this diet ?
