Discussing AAS with American doctors

Hi guys

I am seeing a primary care physician for the first time next Tuesday. That will be 2.5 weeks after my last test injection and the first week of my clomid/nolva phase.

I'm planning on having a thyroid function test and getting the ball rolling on hpv vaccines. I dont think either are effected by AAS BUT I wanted to ask those of you with experience with American doctors how, if at all, you go about approaching the subject of your AAS usage.

I dont fully understand the laws in place. I dont know if they are under legal obligation to report illegal drug use to insurance companies or what have you. I do know that in about 9-10 weeks I'll need to have blood work done to check my recovery and I'm not sure how to broach that subject without making reference to my AAS usage.

you could also go online, to privatemdlabs.com or a site similair to this and get the male hormone panel..then go to the nearest care provider closest to your area and have it done this was..not really sure about all the details, but check out that site and there are a few similair to it..you can look right on the site where the closest location to get the actual blood test done.

United States physicians are not mandated to report illegal drug use to authorities...However, I can guarantee you that it will go in your permanent medical record. And guess who reviews permanent medical records for billing purposes?? Insurance companies.

Yup. A big part of my job is reviewing people's medical records. This one guy was in a serious accident - close to life & death situation - anyway his AAS use ended up in his medical chart, with a big bold box around the entry by the doc. This was Canada btw.

It was kind of ironic cause I ended up having to ask him bout his AAS use, and act like I didn't know what I was talking about. Aaaawwwkward.

HIPPA doesn't protect privacy nearly as much as many people think.

life insurers,
employers,
workers compensation carriers,
many schools and school districts,
many state agencies like child protective service agencies,
many law enforcement agencies,
many municipal offices.

your right about HIPPA but dont worry about law. the thing is that on your Medical History, AAS use would be noted. Medical records are hard to change.
