Anybody here ever cook with wild game. Like moose, bison, venison? Anything?

I only ask because I have completely tuned out beef and substituted it for bison.

I sure love my bison!

I love bison, the only shop that carried it closed down few years ago. I would take bison over beef any day. No more deer hunting around here for years now but Moose is also a favorite of mine when someone I know gets drawn in the moose draw for a license or I get drawn..

Living in pretty much in a rural area where there are a ton of farms for beef I usually just buy a full cow between me and my parents from a local farmer and have it cut up by a local butcher, lasts us forever and I know its grass fed beef so its not too bad.

I currently do not, because I am out of the country, but dead bambi will definitely account for a lot of my protein intake when I get back.

It was Bambi's mother that was killed by the hunters.

Love me some venison though. Should actually be going hunting in a few months, last time we bagged a deer and made our own venison sausages and steaks - so good. Also some Kangaroo (beauty of living in Australia), incredibly lean source of protein.

We eat a lot venison, crappie, catfish, bass, turkey, rabbit, and squirrel here! Bobcat is pretty good, but we do not get a lot of it.

Shit yeah its great lean protein and its cool if you harvest it yourself. I usually kill at least one deer for the winter. I caught fish yesterday and ate them today along w some duck on the grill. I always throw it into my diet.

In Alberta so get lots of deer ,moose and can geese all good choices and some bush chickens all better than store bought for sure.

I've tried widgeon. It seemed to be too hard. So I'm fan of wild game because it needs more time and skills for cooking.

Venison has to be my favourite source of protein, we used to have a deep freeze full of venison back steaks, sausages, mince it was pretty good living in a house with 5 guys that are all mad hunters, that was back in nz.

You must shoot a lot of rabbits to get a descent feed! I enjoy rabbit but enjoy blowing then away with a 12 gauge so doesn't leave much of the rabbit to eat haha

nah not my main source of protein, i just eat them occasionally, fun to shoot!!
