Elbow tendonitis

Anyone have any good ideas on how to heal elbow tendonitis besides just rest? My (r) elbow has been hurting like hell lately and I finally had to take a day off to rest it. I really began to notice it after starting heavy shrugs.

I ice it every day, a couple times per day. I just hate missing days in the gym. It is aggravated by any pulling exercise (pull ups, rows, curls) and a few pushing exercises will irritate it as well.



Any help is appreciated.
 
its in your tendons,i have the same problem using skullcrushers.....i started using Oste-plex and it done wonders for me,mine dont hurt like they used to
 
Try getting a tennis elbow band. You can pick one up at any pharmacy or walmart. Only 10-15 bucks. Wear it all the time not just when lifting. should help it heal faster
 
I had to take 12 weeks off from curls and pull ups (my left elbow). Take 12 weeks and do "eccentric loading". Start with a 15 pound dumbbell, raise it to the top position with your good arm, and let the weight down slowly with your bad arm. Do 3 sets of 12 every other day. You are basically only doing the negative part of the lift with your injured arm. Every 2 weeks, move up to a heavier dumbbell. You must not try to do the positive part of the lift with your injured arm for at LEAST 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, you can start doing regular curls with LIGHT weight to see how it feels. This cured my tendonitis which I had for almost 1 year and had progressed into tendonosis. My only other option was surgery. Good luck.
