First testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) blast-

First TRT blast-

Not sure where to post this, but figured this was better than the IMT recruitment forum.

I've been trying to eat "clean", and exercising more since I started on Testosterone maintenance.

I'm 46, 5-11 and around 30% body fat.

I was doing around 200mg per week, and was having slight gyno, and fatigue.

Once I figured out that aromasin works better for me than arimidex, I decided to try a blast and see how my body would handle 600mg per week.

When I first started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) 2 months ago, I weighed 245 pounds.

I gave blood today, and to my surprise, I tipped the scales at 250-

I would have bet all the money in my pocket, that I had lost 5-10 pounds...

I feel like a million bucks, but can't figure out how the hell I'm gaining more weight :worried:

Gaining weight due to the AMOUNT of testosterone in your system... do some CARDIO.. keep a CLEAN diet... you will lose un wanted body fat and gain MUSCLE while doing it!!

more test more estro more water..an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) will only do as much as you take..if you trpled your test...u get the point...

is it fat ?

water ?

Maybe your GROWING MUSCLE ?

You tell me ?

You have got some good advice but I will add my 2 cents in. I honestly don't think you should have blasted at all at this point. First off, you have only been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for 2 months. As a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) patient myself, I will say that it takes a good amount of time to understand your body and a lot of blood work to see how everything is working. You could have gotten the same out of a blast of 400mg instead of 600mg. However, please realize that it took me a good year to dial in my hormones. I think you need to learn your hormones and get them under control. You can always blast later on. You have plenty of time. So stay at your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose and you will lose that water weight as your estrogen will lower as well. I am dialed in with my hormones and I know exactly how much test per week to take and how much Aromatase inhibitor (AI) control I need and where my estrogen is best at. For example, if my estrogen gets below 15, then I start having libido issues. If my estrogen gets above 30, I start to have libido issues. So I am always in the 20-25 range and I feel good. So get on your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose, try to stay on top of the blood work and dial your hormones in. On top of that, get on a good diet and do some cardio. If at that point you are still having some issues with weight loss, then you need to check your thyroid because exogenous testosterone can decrease thyroid output and a lot of guys on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) need to get on a thyroid med to help your metabolism and give it a boost. Good luck.

Well, thanks for the advice, but I decided to go for it, and I'm feeling so good I ain't stopping now...

I'm not sure just how clean my diet is.

Yesterday I ate a bowl of oatmeal with a heaping scoop of peanut butter and a squirt of honey for breakfast.

Some salad with lettuce carrots tomato onion and a hard boiled egg, plus a few tuna salad sandwiches with a can of tuna in water, a heaping table spoon of sweet relish, and a few heaping spoonfuls of real mayo on enriched wheat bread.

Then I steamed some carrots, broccoli, tomato, onion, and grilled a big milkfish with garlic onion, and ate half of it.

Later I ate a steamed chicken breast covered with melted cheese, and a half plate of rice.

Midnight snack was more peanut butter oatmeal, and honey.

Isn't that kinda clean?

Your diet needs work. You can get all the info you need in the diet section. A few tips I could give is that you need more protein, cut out the enriched white breads and mayo, and stop eating carbs later in the day. Good luck to you.

NO Midnight snacks for losing weight. Try to cut back on carbs late in the day and at night

I'm using 250 ml of human grade test-e every 3 days.

I tried taking 12.5 mg of aromasin from teh Pharmacy every day, but my libido went away. Then I tried it every other day, and I felt like shit half the time.

Now I'm just cutting up my aromasin pills into little chunks and taking a little piece twice a day. If my libido goes down, I know I took a little bit too much, if I get fatigue, I take a little bit extra.

I don't know what my numbers are, but so far I'm happy with being energized, and having better erections than viagra ever gave me.

As far as water, fat or muscle... I'm really not sure. I feel like I'm firming up and figured my weight would go down a little bit.

I'm pretty damn excited about getting back into shape though, and loving life on testosterone, but I am a little bit worried about not doing all the blood tests.

Should I go get tested while I'm running a blast?

You need to start counting calories/macros. Your diet can be composed of so called "clean" foods but if your gong over your maintance calories you will not lose weight. Also I would definitely get a lot more protein in your diet

best to have waited a full year and been dialed in on your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), you don't even know how the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) will effect your hematocrit and hemoglobin and now you're blasting, it will probable catch up when the doc asks for blood
remember health first, adding the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) gave you mental clarity and drive, take that to the gym and diet. later you can test your limits with a blast. you will need to rest soon and start again

What prompted you to start testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)? I have been self administering testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for over 2 years now, starting on 250mg test per week, i boost it up to 500mg per week every 4 months for a month or so just to make an increase in size and strength. I use underground lab gear as its hard getting pharma grade were i live, i started when i turned 36, after abusing the gear through my twenties i decided it was a good idea to go long term trt.

Thanks for the reply bhrees-

You know, the doctor that put me on testosterone only does blood tests for my testosterone level. He's a urologist, and doesn't really know anything about hormone replacement. I've learned far more about it from reading this board than he knows... Plus I'm able to get cheap human grade testosterone and aromasin from the local pharmacy without a script, so I'm treating myself for the time being.

I just donated about half a liter of blood, they tested my hemoglobin. No problem so far... They said I'd have to wait 2 months though, before I donate again.

Doesn't donating blood also help with hematocrit levels while on a blast?

I'll be returning to the US in a few months, and plan to be on a low enough dose not to need an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) before I see a doctor that will want to micro-manage my TRT.

The sticky thread "300mg vs 600mg testosterone" was what made me start seriously contemplating doing a blast. And since I respond really well to aromasin I haven't had a problem dialing in my estrogen.

I just figured since I've got the chance to do it on my own, I might as well go for it.

I know your right Brizza...

Seems like everyone in the diet section really knows all about crunching the numbers.

I guess I'll have to download an app for my tablet, and start measuring my food intake-

I got more protein today, ate a total of 10 eggs (6 whites and 4 whole scrambled) a couple of big scoops of peanut butter in a bowl of oats, and a can of tuna.

donating blood helps slow the process of developing thick blood, it only reduces hematocrit by about 1 point.
blood testing is important in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and so are dose levels, search and discover the impact of single doses above 150 mg

go for the blast, but when its over come off and get a solid base line so your healthy for the long run

Well I got hurt at work, and suffered a long list of broken bones, and joint injuries. Was on opiates for 8 years, and when I was finally able to detox methadone, I never fully recovered. I felt tired as hell every day, was having ED, and depressed as hell. Then I read an article about how long term opiate use causes low testosterone, and got tested.

So, your saying you can see an increase in size and strength after only blasting for a month? That's good to know, I thought it would take longer to start seeing results.

I see most people running blasts for 4-5 months. But others only a month...

What dose do you run when your on a blast, and how long do you run it?

THis... When i started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) 2 months ago 200mg test cyp/week from the doc.. started getting sore nips added letro to fight the estrogen.. .. I went up 25lbs in 2 months with zero diet change and going to the gym with light cardio. Its pure water weight.. i could no longer put my watch on my wrist without needing to add another link.. on day #5.. weight is starting to come down and the soreness is gone 100%

Its water bro..

know your diet isn't great but unless your eating twinkies for breakfast and mcdonals for lunch you should still be shedding some weight on 600 mg of test. how long you been training for? cardio?
