Food for Thought ....Do you understand what is happening around you

I buy at least 1 or 2 boxes of ammo every time I go to Walmart... I'm not a hoarder or being greedy, buying out everything on the shelves like some will do...

But let me tell you from experience - whenever a catastrophe such as a hurricane, even gets near the Gulf Coast, the stores start pulling ammo and guns off the shelf and locks them away.

That is Walmarts policy I was told... That was the last time I ever had weapons that I didn't have ammo for.

And then during Katrina, you heard on the news about LEO's confiscating home-owners weapons during the thick of it all...

How the hell you going to defend your family and what belongs to you?

Not happening in my AO...

no offense to any but the american people are much to blame for there own situation. too much spending and borrowing without having. and the bank system sucks because they kept handing the cash out.

It's worse than that. Much, much worse. The banking system and our government are so intertwined that it would blow your mind. Our government has given money to the largest banking institutions who have, in turn, taken that money and sold bogus investments around the globe. They've been able to do so based on the reputation that the investments were good. Now that various bubbles have burst and it is realized that the "assets" purchased on the global market have been leveraged against other bogus assets the whole system is coming unraveled. The continued bail outs and our government buying our own debt (quantitative easing) are just window dressing that is buying us time.

NO ONE wants to do the right thing and stop the spending. Doing so requires a lot of sacrifice and suffering, and you can see from the riots in Greece and London exactly what happens when people have entitlements taken away from them. But it's coming. One way or another. We can bite the bullet now and have a chance at recovery if we return to the founding principle of our Constitution, or we can plod along merrily with our heads in the sand acting like everything will be alright -- until suddenly it's not alright and we're dealing with hyper inflation and looking at prices increase so fast on food, fuel, clothing, and everything else that we'll make the late '90 collapse in Argentina look like a small blip on the radar.

We don't need a revolution. We need a restoration. A restoration to the original ideals and principles of the founding fathers. Small centralized and limited federal government, free market capitalism, and maximum individual liberty. I'll keep fighting for those principles even everything goes all to hell. So will my kids. Someone has to be around to pick up the pieces when the dust settles.

crashed economy because of too many people buying stuff with money they didnt have. even the bank borrows money at interest from the central bank. it is an economy based on debt...........

thats a vague view i have, i wont pretend to be an economist

here in canada, we do pay higher taxes (here in quebec its alot), but social benefits are much better, quality of life is better, education system and health system work better as well.......but we pay more taxes, altho that money goes back to us usually as opposed to a ridiculous military budget

and our banking system is a model for other countries.

and my favorite part is way the banks were given bailout money they turned around and paid out huge bonuses to the very people that ran everything into the ground.

if everything went back to the original american way you guys would be balls deep in civil war right now because old time americans wouldnt stand for that shit!

and just for the record. I don't hate Obama. Nor do i blame him for the way things are. I just don't agree with his policies.

Regardless, change has to start with accountability and less entitlement. Smaller government as well.

Honestly, we haven't had a good president in a long time.

IMO all politicians are crooks and there isnt a party worth a shit anymore..
And on another note Politics is a worse thing to discuss then the RJH lmao....

Yes the politicians have been screwing it up for many years - it's not all Obama and I sure don't hate him.

But his policies and his ideologies are so screwed up - history has proven you cannot govern this way and expect positive results - it's not growth building economics.

Socialism - marxism - this is'm that is'm - it just doesn't work. :smoker:

I'm sorry, but we as a country have done nothing but continue to make excuses for everything we do and no one wants to take responsibility for their actions. Entitlement is not the answer. We need to hold the lazy accountable immediately. Stop punishing me cause I am successful and I make over 250K/year. Not saying punish the lazy... unless they think making their asses work is punishment (im sure some would think so cause they can sit on thier ass instead). But we need to hold them accountable. No one on WIC should pull up to the grocery store in a tricked out Escalade.

People say there are no jobs out there so they sit around and make $350/w on unemployment for 99 weeks... simply cause they can. Its bullshit. And thats just one of the issues we face. A job at McDonalds pays that and at least thats respectable.

Right now we're afraid of the government and what we fear they will do in the future. Hence the Tea Party, etc. This causes revolution. We need a change... not Obama change. Real change.

well said rj...

im not saying ur making bad points... what im saying is i dont believe it should be obamas fault.. and the answer i gave was in the context of that...

and yes, if your making over 250k a year, u should be able to contribute impartially to ur community..

no matter how you do it some people are gonna fraud their way through it all.. people are gonna be on welfare for longer then they should.. people are gonna be on unemployment longer then they should.. shit like that is gonna happen...

doesn't mean we should leave them homeless or hungry... we have a responsibility for our community

i grew up poor.. my family was on welfare for a good deal of my childhood... my father was on unemployment once too...

this country has given to me.. fed me.. held a roof over my head.. given me an education.. and did it all for free...

thats why i dont mind paying higher taxes.. esp if it means im doing it for someone else...

i guess u have to be put into that situation to better understand where i come from... im an immigrant.... i came here as a child and became a citizen... i have a responsibility to help those who are in the same situation as i was

This post made me crack up this kind of shit is passed around by people without a clue as to what the real issues and implications are.

I'm an entrepreneur and there are several in my close family. Aging business owners that suddenly can't retire because a black man became president is such a fucken heap of trash the writing was on the wall for a while change was coming and some people adapt and overcome and other look for excuses. if you are making enough to get hit hard by the taxes then you should be fine and if you're not that is your own damn fault for not living within your means.

hahahaha we had to fire our receptionist of 23 years because of barrack obama priceless!

let's vote in nothing but republicans and re-evaluate in 4 years well see this exact same email circulating from democrat lackies that don't have a clue.

i don't mind giving to my community, or people in need. But unfortunatley that is not who gets the money if taxes are raised. It goes to entitlement programs and they get abused.

I agree, its no one person's fault. Like I said, people need to be held accountable.

either way, we got a tough road ahead. I worry more about what my kids have to deal with.

Maybe i can convince the wife to buy an island and start living like the Blue Lagoon.

after reading that post again alot of it is funny. like i said, i fear that the repubs winning last month will do nothing but put us into more of a bi-partisan fight that will accomplish nothing.

Its sad really.

Word. It doesn't matter who is president who made the mess or who is cleaning it up lazy people will be lazy frauds will find loopholes and people that can't adapt to changes and plan for an uncertain future will hit rough times and reach out for the nearest blame branch to grab hold of. The many will suffer little injustices thanks to the few and the weak will cry about it while the strong will press on.

We should spend less time fucken off with your party my party crap but that won't ever happen either.

As long as jackasses are pushing their agenda at every turn and throwing litlte shit here and there into bills just to get their name on a fucken law and fuck with the opposition party and shit the whole system will be screwy.

hey on the bright side of things...its starting to look up for the american auto industry again. i personally have only ever owned a GM product myself, try to keep it local (ontario homes the best GM plant there is). cant see the point in buying foreign just to save a bit on gas...

Clearly Obama saved the domestic automobile industry after Bush tried to run that into the ground as well.

You know what we really need though. We need a good strong pro steroid pro bodybuilding immigrant with some experience in public office preferably from somewhere like a liberal state to step in and become president and really change the world.

yeah, instead of a health care plan that punishes me if i don't buy private insurance... punish those who don't participate in a fitness regimen... bet that would help the alarming obesity rates. lol

if you have to lay anyone off, just watch to see which one of your employees have Obama bumper stickers, they can be the first to go

From what I've read it seems to me that RJ has the best approach to our political situation in terms of living up to the ideals this country was founded on. Specifically his emphasis on personal responsibility and a focus on solutions instead of problems. Too many people spend time bitching and complaining and not working on a meaningful solution. Complaining is ok as long as you have some productive action to go along with it. How many people bitch and complain to their friends but don't vote, don't email their legislators, etc.? Also, everyone needs to take personal responsibility and practice some self reliance not just people abusing medicare and medicaid but also our policy makers, and the everyday person.

Another great point on this post is that the problems our country faces is not isolated to Obama. Does anyone with half a braincell truly believe that our current state of affairs is because Obama was elected? There is a LONG history of over overspending, a sense of entitlement, and generally living above one's means and not taking responsibility in America. This is happening on BOTH a governmental level and personal level.

Bottom line is that the days of living large with multiple cars, big homes, multiple vacations, etc. for the average joe are over. The government and average citizens have lived above their means for far too long and it caught up to us.

Take some responsibility and quit bitching unless your gonna do something about it and realize that in the grand scheme of things you probably have it better than 95% of the people on this planet. SELF RELIANCE, TAKING RESPONSIBILITY, LIVING WITHIN YOU MEANS, APPRECIATION, AND CONSTRUCTIVE WORDS AND ACTIONS.

P.S.- how the hell is this in the anabolic forum?

at least you americans havent sold all your resources like canada. our hydro, fuel ect. we sold it so that we could buy it back, does that make sense? then in ontario here our premiere dalton was close to selling off some of our best assets such as the olg, lcbo an hydro one...wtf? im still pissed that we off loaded the 407, another cash cow! now ontario is going green so windfarms are going up left, right and center which is fine im in construction so my company benefits from that, but all the contracts for the mechanical end goes to japan. i dont know, spread the wealth i guess...

Right before and after the election there were plenty cars that had obama stickers, now you don't see any stickers, and it's had to find anyone that will admit they voted for him.

Change we can believe in, what a load of bullshit that turned out to be.
