HCG expiration dates question

one way step

New member
Okay so I have two vials of HCG left that both have April 2015 as the expiration dates on the boxes. I constructed one today.

How long are these things good for? Should I discard both the constructed and the unopen box at the end of the month?

I woulden't discard. Reconstitute and freeze. http://www.steroidology.com/forum/t...herapy/675148-hcg-use-optimal-storage-3j.html

Personally, I have done the following, which is working perfectly.

-Got single vial and reconstituted. I used 10cc in 10,000iu HCG vial. I take a small dose so its more accurate with more liquid
-Filled 20 or so .5ml syringes (1cc=1ml)
-Froze 19 of them
-Use one at at a time, back filling another small insulin syringe with my dose. For me, its been 50iu a day, so .05ml. Give or take a little lost juice, I am getting 8-10 days of HCG per thawed syringe.

HCG can stay frozen a long time - months. You can even thaw and re-freeze it with little quality loss. My steps are just an example that works with my dose... come up with a system to freeze what you aren't using and you will be good to go. If you are using larger doses, only a few times a week, you can just skip the daily backfill routine and just fill a ton of syringes with your bi-weekly dose. After injecting, take the next out out of freezer into fridge, so its ready for next time.

Theoretically, would I be able to store reconstructed vials and thaw them out for refrigeration when I am ready to use them? I have roommates and don't like the idea of leaving syringes in our freezer. They don't notice the vials.

if it was unmixed , once mixed use up in 4 weeks. keep the owder for few months longer. I would not freez since water expands and contracts when frozen and unfrozen and can damage delicate compounds. BUT if you are in no way able to use it up fast enough then it is a better option than just tossing it all out.

the repeated freez/thaw would be bad... not sure what to say. maybe get a few small empty vials and have two doses in each to thaw out at a time? or even atleast into a few parts?
just brain storming

I respectfully disagree. There was a small study, done by a compounding pharmacy, showing efficacy after monthly freeze/thaw cycles. I can't find the details but here is a quote someone wrote about it. I personally don't thaw and re-freeze though. I just freeze and thaw once as needed. I don't like the idea of thawing the vial over and over. Tell your roommates to stop being babies. Put the syringes in a bag, its not a big deal.

"A major compounding pharmacy we are considering using has shown me their data, and I am convinced.

Attached is our potency data... originally mixed and tested in August. After testing, the preparation was frozen and stored at the lab. Every 30 days, the preparation was thawed and tested. You can see the results for up to 90 days frozen. As I am certain your aware, the USP standard for almost all preparations is 90-110% of labeled strength, but for hCG the standard is 80-125% of labeled strength. Our results fall well within these range."

Reconstitute them.

Draw up a whole bunch of individual doses into syringes.

Place them in a tupperware container and freeze them.

Remove one ~15 minutes prior to injection to let it thaw.

Inject.

Also keep in mind when we talk about HCG "expiring" it doesn't just one day become useless. After some time yea HCG can start to degenerate, if you look at the numbers though it is so small its pretty much meaningless at the dosages we take.

If you were taking 400 IU and got 380 instead you would never know.

All the structure around HCG is dependent on dosages of 2500, 5,000 and 7500 IU at time. Originally HCG vials were not meant for multi dose. The bottles came in those sizes because thats the dosages doctors gave patients.

So if your taking 5,000 IU and get a 5% degeneration that may seem like a significant difference. 5 % of 400 IU though is not much different.

It should last 10 weeks in the fridge with BAC if its pregnyl.

Would it make a difference in any way if I reconstitute mine with Sodium Chloride (sterile for injection use) rather than BAC?
