I went to the gym yestarday normal leg day, ask a trainer who was train someone if I could work in on the smith machine and than he ask if I wanted to workout with them, I said sure. Since he was pretty damn big. Anyhow he pushed me like I never been pushed before. During leg workout I developed a giant head-ache and got home took some tylenol and it took couple of hours but it went away. Well today I went back to the gym to do chest and warmed up and got up to 275lbs and develop the giant head-ache again. So couple people told me to go home and take couple days off. Has this ever happen to anyone? Never happen before to me. Any help would be app.

It happened to me before, I would get migraines every time I started lifting, then after I got the headache it would flare up no matter what I was doing.

I figured out I pulled a muscle in my neck, I had to take about 2-3 weeks off, when I started back I could still feel a slight headache so I just took it easy for a couple more weeks just light stuff, trying to maintain some muscle and strength.

After that I have never gotten it since, best of luck...injuries suck

Yeah you describe it to a T. So after you took a couple of weeks off it felt find?

Yeah after a couple weeks off it was fine, to be honest it probably would have healed quicker if I didnt keep trying to come back and lift.

I would take 2 or 3 days off and try again, I really didnt see any improvement until I gave it a couple weeks though.

It got bad enough where I was getting dizzy and I threw up once. You dont want to screw around with neck or back muscles, if its how your saying it is I would def. take the ibuprophen, get some heat on it and just give it a couple weeks.

When I warmed up with 135lbs than hit 225 I felt find, it was when I hit 275 that it started to pound again. I think it was because of the pressure from the heavier weight. But thanks for the help man.

more warm-up sets and rest time in between sets might help man

Get your blood pressure tested. I could be wrong, but it's just a hunch.

im with this guy.. def get your BP checked out. it's known to cause this. some symptoms are getting hot feeling and preassure buildup in the head along with the head ache you're describing. especially when exerting energy for an exercise. also make sure you're breathing properly when throwing up reps. but def get your BP checked.

Hey Shrek211, I have had the same symptoms. Especially cause you were training legs and harder than regular, you flex alot of muscles working that hard. You usually dont feel it but you flex muscles in your neck to. In my case, the muscle became inflamed and pinched a nerve in the back of my neck. I had to take a few weeks off and when i got back in the gym I just kept an eye on how much i really was flexing my neck. Hope this helped.
