Hi
iv recently been to the doctors and out of curiosity i got my bl0od pressure taken,it read 130/85.the reason i got this taken is because im waiting to start my first course of steroids, the doctor said this is normal for my age which i am 20 but fairly high.im just wondering what yous guys think if i should still go ahead or is there any supplements out there that would lower my bp.

Hawthorn extract and garlic my help,

But more importantly are you over weight? what's your bf%? what's you diet like?

What dosage of Test are you planning on running? 8 weeks is to short. Min of 10 should be 12.

How tall are you and to save me converting it, what's 14st in lb?

What you have eaten or were doing before you have it taken can affect the readings.

At the Docs, my BP goes through the roof, he calls it "white Coat Syndrome" and it's because I hate being there. He even made me have tests for it, before he got to know me.

Have you got your own BP monitor? if not get one and keep on eye on it yourself and take the supplements I told you about. There other things you can take, but there is no need IMO. Just monitor it carefully.

re

the blood pressure is not that bad. it is prehypertensive.

you are too young to start aas. you are only 20.

get your weight in order and diet.
train for a couple of years and then consider drugs.

Who took your BP? The fact that they recorded your blood pressure as odd numbers is a joke. One of the golden rules is to NEVER record BP as odd numbers. This is one of the first things you learn when taking/recording BP. With that said, I would get someone else to take your blood pressure for a more accurate measurement. The machines at Wal-Mart and other convenient stores are not accurate at all. Avoid them at all costs. The most accurate way to measure BP is with a stethascope and sphyganometer.

With that said, there seems to be a few threads popping up here regarding blood pressure. If I get some time today (if not today, I'll do it tomorrow), I'll write up a pretty detailed thread all about blood pressure which will hopefully clear a lot of things up for anyone with questions.

mahines will give you an odd number
the ones at the drugstores seem to be fairly accurate. mine is always 130/79
i go to the doc and its very close to that!

I can see the machines giving an odd number due to their calibration, but for a clinical physician or healthcare professional to record a BP as odd numbers is a bit far fetched. I'm not saying all machines are inaccurate, but the possibility for error is very high. If a machine is the only tool one has to measure BP, it's not too bad, but there are more accurate, trust-worthy techniques out there.

What are you even talking about, odd numbers. Who ever told you that mumbo jumbo? Jeez dude.

hes saying this because sphygomanometers do not have odd numbers on the dial, only even. I work in the cardiology field, it is not wrong to record an odd number, just not common because most dont make an attempt to be that precise.

Exactly. Just from my experiences, people have been hounded for recording odd number blood pressures. If there are only even numbers on a sphygomanometer, how can an odd number be recorded? That's the whole theory I've been taught. Is it wrong to record an odd number? Not exactly, but I've seen plenty of healthcare professionals get picked apart for recording a BP as odd numbers. Maybe this practice is more common than I thought? I don't know.

I was just at a cardio last week they recorded a odd number.

I guess recording BP as odd numbers is more common than I had thought. I can only talk about my experiences and what I've been taught. Around my parts, if you record a blood pressure as an odd number, you're asked to record it again and frowned upon. Not just by an individual person, but by a group of healthcare professionals. It's kind of along the lines of a thought process of, "if you can't take a proper blood pressure, what else can't you do properly?"

I just assumed this was the general concensus everywhere in the medical community, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

My apologies for getting "uptight" about it. I guess every place is different. While some places may enforce certain rules, other places might not.

not really that big of a deal, not sure why the whole thread turned into arguing this. In a clinical setting, you see automated bp machines used by nurses, etc record even and odd pressures, when someone takes BP manually, they usually report in even numbers because like i said, nobody tried to be that precise as the needle is falling, how do you know you heard the first Korotkoff sound at 119 and not 118 or 120?
