Well mine were 55 and I couldn't get out of bed even on test. A young healthy male will have a 15 shbg or thereabout, maybe even slightly lower. SHBG will get driven up over time as seen in old men. Environmental xenoestrogens drive them up too...
The importance of a low SHBG is to block the xenoestrogens and estrogens in your body and elevate free testosterone. It is the secret to feeling good on TRT. I keep mine low all the time for this purpose.
Positive. 13 is good. There is a lot of bad info on the net that is repeated by parrots. This knowledge comes from another doc who has been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) longer than most people and treated tons of people for high shbg.
I'm sure there are low shbg disorders, but 13 I don't think qualifies for that.

Well from my understanding you could have a high aromatiztion of estrogen and it still not be binding in, but be detectable in the blood. I'm not sure about that though. In any event you need an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) with estrogen levels that high if I am thinking of the same scale where the range is 0-50, under 30 being ideal. Are you fat? You may not be feeling the estrogen stress due to your low shbg, though if you have low T too who knows.
Your testosterone will rise when there is less estrogen in your body. Perhaps an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) alone would help you. The upper ranges for estrogen in men's labs are ridiculously high.
