HRT and fertility... SWALE and other docs, help!

Hey, everyone...

I'm new at posting to this board, but I've been surfing it and other boards like it for a long time (basically ever since I got on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and started learning more about it). First some background... I was diagnosed with hypogonadism due to pituitary failure (origin unknown... no tumors or anything and never used steroids or pro-hormones) at age 22. Basically, I had almost immeasurable levels of testosterone, FSH, and LH. My endo immediately put me on test cyp injections @100mg/week, and I began to feel "good" again for the first time in almost four years. I was on that protocol for a year and a half until my wife and I decided we should try to have a child. Have any of you guys on permanent Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) ever tried to become fertile and if so, what did you do? Keep in mind that I wasn't just "low-testosterone" prior to HRT... my test, FSH, and LH levels were UN-MEASURABLE. Also any docs, what would you do with a permanent Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) patient like me trying to become fertile? Sorry for the long post, but I really need all of your help. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and if you have any input, please respond!

Welcome to Steroidology Bro,

I'm on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and was asked by my Dr if we were going to want to have children. The Dr said if yes he'd put me on clomid, so tell your Dr and he'll put yopu on clomid or what he think or knows will work. Good luck Bro.

Have you thought about checking your hgh levels to see if you can get a script for hgh.

Thanks for the welcome... it's great to see a board where the members are so knowledgeable. My endo put me on 2,000iu of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) 3x/week... doesn't this sound a little high? I guess since I am permanently shut down, I don't need to worry about any suppression from this dosage, because after (Lord willing) we have a child, I will be going straight back on the test cyp... Any others with input?

So when he put you on Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) he took you off test? Have you had a sperm count, do you have any swimmers?

Nope - Haven't had a sperm test yet, but the docs said that it wasn't even necessary to begin testing for it until I had been on the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) for at least four months...
