I cant Squat :(

49ER

I am ******!
Hey bros any advise on leg training? I hurt my lower back in December just when I was making great gains on my squat. Ive stayed away because I have chronic back pain now. Ive been doing leg presses 720lbs for 10 reps today. But they just dont compare to squats. I want to make the most out of leg workouts so any advise would be great.

get yourself a nice, thick, big, workout belt.
Put it on as tight as it will go around your mid-section.

Should alleviate any stress that your back takes from back or front squats.

Ya I wish I could afford matt007 to train me lol
LOL. I can't squat anymore either, but mine's due to knee injuries. I'm always on the lookout for a "squat machine" or rack that helps to take the pressure off, but have to stick to extensions/leg curls/farmer walks/modified lunges until then.

As stated lunges, leg extensions, and ect are all options in leg development. But none are gonna hit and build mass and strength like a back of front squat will.

typically (for myself) IF you have the correct form, a front squat takes a lot of the pressure off of your back. IDK if you do these, maybe try incorporating them into your workout.

I crushed my L1 vertebra when I was 18 in a car accident. I cant squat a lot. and I have an Ironmaster IM 2000 smith machine at home. Even with that, I gutta take it easy.

Damn JM, sounds like you have quite the home gym!

Ive never tried a front squat ill give it a go next time thx

I never liked front squats. Could never go heavy enough cuz it put too much pressure on my shoulders. I would recommend lunges, leg extension and curl. Rest up that back. You dont want to criple youreself.

I used to have a lot of lower back pressure to doing squats to. I switched up to a wide (sumo) stance. Really helped with it. Make sure you lean back in your squat to, Squat off your heals as well. Another good one is deads to bro, just make sure you are dropping your hips and pulling with your legs. Try to shove your feet through the floor...lol

I was doing squats today felt like I was gonna give myself a hernia never had that before lots of pressure in a little spot about 2-3" above my d*** and a inch or two to the right scared the shit out of myself stopped right away no lumps or pain.

honestly i would say to just stick to leg press or maybe hack squats until your lower back gets better. i fucked up my lower back when i was 18yrs old doing sloppy deadlifts and i couldnt do squats or anything that involved core strength for a few months. try 100 rep sets of squats with your body weight. you'll get a pretty good pump while rehabbing the back muscles.(you dont wanna stop working it all together, or you will never truly get better)
