I have low T at 22 years of age

One more thing guys, once during this winter i went to a BJJ class...rolled pretty hard...that night after the class....i felt sooo miserable, couldn't sleep, very depressed, just didn't feel like living, i was physicaly so exhausted...what i wanna say is that if you are physically weak and physically don't feel good, that can have a profound effect on your psychollogy
In the middle of the night i went to the kitchen to stare through the window then and sat down at the kitchen table for a while and think...''huh...that is the real shit...but i will get out of it.''

Can i take melatonin as a sleep aid? does it even work? how much should i take?

I love melatonin! I use it almost daily. It helps you fall asleep. Doesn't help you stay asleep.

Ideal method: take 1 to 2mg about an hour before you want to fall asleep.

If you can't anticipate (doesn't work out some days), take about 5-10mg when you want to go to sleep. Should kick in withing 15-20 minutes. Make sure lights and TV are off.

I like that kind that melts under your tongue. I get it on Amazon. But the pills you swallow work too.

Do you ever take time off Melatonin Mega? I've never really seen a need to, but leafing through the pamphlet that came with my last box it did say to have a week off every 8 weeks.. Your bang on though, it's a great sleep aid.

I don't use it every day. But I have never taken a whole week off since I started using it I didn't know that was recommended.

Nor did I. I've certainly used it daily for longer periods than 8 weeks at a time and haven't had any issues but... best to be cautious I guess. I don't use it daily anymore for the sake of it, only when I need to (big day the next day etc.)

I got one more question. If i get that sleep study done and they find out that i don't get into that deep phase of sleep, what is the solution? How can they help me?
But I also read that low T causes bad sleep - long but inefficient sleep.

Depends on the cause. Apnea gets treated with something like a c-pap. Restless Leg Syndrome can be treated with medications. And so on

have you ever had an M.R.I. done? or were you ever in an accident or had a fall where you may have injured your back or neck?

as the guys previously stated, a lack of sleep or disturbed sleep can have a huge impact on both your energy levels and also your general mood overall.

The problems you describe in regard to your leg may stem from anything from spinal stenosis, which is a narrowing of the spinal canal or something as simple as bulging or ruptured disc or a bone spur which forms along the joints but can result in nerve root compression which would result in a tingling or 'pins and needles' feeling along your leg or arm. an M.R.I. would be able to pinpoint if any of these conditions existed, and if thats the case then surgery can correct it.

before you start any self treatment id recommend going back to your doctor or if hes not listening then ask to be recommended to a neurologist and then explain to him/her exactly what is going on with the pain in your leg and arm. Getting this issue resolved first may make the difference in you finally getting a good nights sleep and in turn improving your energy levels and mood overall.

I was at the neurologist today. My leg nerves are fine she said. Also my spine nerves are fine she said. She really took her time though. I asked her about the sleep study and told her my sleep is bad, but she told me that the polisomnography is only done on people who have really bad sleep problems, and that i probably don't have a huge sleep problem. She gave me a referral to a sleep specialist though, and i am gonna talk to him.
She said that the waiting time for polisomnography is pretty long and that they do that only on patients with severe sleep problems, because it takes all night etc.

So what do you guys think about the sleep study? I need some arguments for my doctor.

What country do you live in? It is amazingly easy to get a sleep study done in the United States. I talked to my doc about it and I was in for one within the week. They had tons of openings.

Just say:

- After sleeping all night you still feel really tired - like you didn't sleep at all.
- Everyone tells you that you are snoring a lot and stop breathing sometimes while asleep.

I get a lot of sleep, but never feel rested. Though in the morning i feel pretty good, but as the day goes, i get fatigued really fast. I did check the bloods first thing in the morning. My diet is pretty much healthy, eggs, bread, milk, meat, rice, potato, oatmeal, buckwheat, some fruit...but i have some digestion problems...and i think if i had higher testosterone i would be much healthier overall...

hey notorious, im in the same boat as your right now.. i could sleep for 12+ hours and feel like death when i wake up. i too think a sleep study would be very beneficial , and im currently thinking of setting one up for my myslef.. best of luck with everything keep us updated, and stay positive

-God bless Andrew
