If gear gets seized

What's the worst thing that can happen if your gear gets seized at customs? Would someone from the DEA show up at your doorstep or something like that?

All depends on what you ordered, if they feel like coming after you, to teach you lesson, they just may. They can fine you $$ as well.

But if your order abroad and don't stay local that's the risk you decided to take. Some people need to learn the hard way ;)

I get all sorts of mail and I can't be responsible for what people send me. For all I know it could be someone trying to get me in trouble.. End of file and tell them to hit the road.

I'm getting really nervous about my first order - it's going to be around $1500 (making two separate orders to make money transfers smaller though)

The stuff is for me and my lifting partner

Most sources are spart enough to seperate larger orders into two or more packages. Or you could order canadian domestic and lose the stress. Also, I highly doubt they would come after you unless its enough to make you look like your selling it.

Thanks

I live in oklahoma though - sorry my username's a bit misleading :D

they will just send you a letter and flag your address. they arent going to pursue you in anyway. you dont understand the volume of stuff that comes from overseas and they cant check everything and they dont have nearly enough resources to pursue every thing they find. i wouldnt worry about it.

it's not worth the risk whatsoever.

They have the authority to do anything from a simple warning seizure letter to putting you in prison.

Moreover, even if you just get a slap on the wrist, your screwed internationally. Once something goes on your mailing record they are gonna check every single international package that ever comes into Canada.

I would strongly recommend doing more research. Everything you need is already in Canada.

I do not understand why people still take risk ordering over seas.
Perhaps I have been around too long, and have seen it all, but in this and age domestic is the only way.

In the event that the police are after you, and if so, they have been after you for a while...if you have been purchasing large amounts very regularly almost weekly for months and months...then they have you under control and have enough evidence to do a controlled delivery and hit you with the book.

If this is your first time ordering, then you really have little to worry about, other than the fact that you are posting your worries in an open board, where all eyes see.

If you are smart enough, you have your pc secured and your connection virtually hidden from a hack..but even then, the fed are better and smarter...always a step or so behind.

This is wrong. If you don't want to be tracked you can opt to open source your IP Address which is not illegal in Canada so long as you tell your ISP. So basically, you can appear as if your living in Europe based on your IP but be posting on a steroid forum off your laptop in the comfort of your home.

calm down girls and hold on to your wet pantys lol, your not a source, & they're not looking to waste tax payers money for a small tuna like yourself, you will get a seizure letter and thats it, if your so paranoid when you get the package have a red marker in hand and write return to sender don't open the package for 2 days. Then your on the clear.

LOL

They won't go after you.... they'll seize the product and flag the foreign company for future shipments.... If they find a repeatable offense that's when they start getting other agencies involved... ICE, DEA, OCI...etc.

Don't sweat it.

International shipments are easier than domestic... once you get it you're good to go. Now with domestic shipments... you could get a package with full contents and still have someone watching you. USPS doesn't mess around sometimes LOL

Thank you for this advice. I'm living in oklahoma not canada though :D

Keep orders relatively small and don't buy for anyone else, why take a risk with the federal law for some one else's benefit
