Importance of Isolation Exercises .... yah right

i was being sarcastic, those lifts are the staples of my routine. If you do them correct you shouldnt have any problems. If you have problems later in life, chances are you would have had them regardless if you did those lifts.

:)

isolatino movements.. are a waste of time and vanity work

The isolatinos are definitely people you have to watch out for in the gym, them and their movements!

lol ok, you do it long enough yourself if you can keep doing it and then come back after 10 years and let me know if you have any problems.

90% of the people to get big they need to Squat / Deadlift heavy. At my high school when i prescribe the kids squast and deads they magically grow 10-20 lbs heavier within 3-6 months, depending on many variables. All the kids who just bench, do bicep curls, tri pull downs, and the machines they are VERY skinny , not to mention weak.. and dont grow.

Thats a good point. Since I've had knee surgery I've not been able to work legs or lower back and have noticed a loss of size and strength. strange how the body works.

Some of the best BB'ers come from powerlifting backgrounds - franco, jackson and brewer to name a few. I definitely believe it helps give you a really dense, hard appearance. But genetics does play a large role in that as well...that's why some people who train like PL'ers could compete in Bb'ing competitions while some who train like BB'ers look like shit.

I think the PL mentality would be more effective for 98% of people.

Couldn't agree more.
And a power guy can always compete in BB within few weeks with the propper steps, but the reverse is not valid AT ALL.

I don't think I'd ever argue that lifting heavy and doing squats, deads, bench doesn't have it's place. I do think those lifts are the cornerstone of ANY program. The guys in the pics look amazing.they have symmetry and cuts etc...they may lift heavy. no doubt. but somehwere along in their training they are doing isolation movements. everything has it's time and place. you can't expect to have the same amount of symmetry if you only lift heavy. the same way a guy can't get freaky big doing cable rows.

The best routines comprise strength training as well as hypertrophy-oriented work imo.

I agree.. but most Bbers just do 3 sets of 8-12 for everything and its not optimal at all

I agree. Today I did sets of 6 and 4 for compound work and then 15-20 for isolation work.
