I'd do a request for discovery and obtain everything they had on him thus far. Then type up something of his account of exactly what happened. Take that to a local criminal attorney and see if he sees anything inconsistent with the way you were questioned, searched, etc... and see if your rights were violated in some way which would be grounds to throw the case out.
