Inject HCG - IM vs. Subcutaneously

Whats are the advantages to shooting Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) IM versus subcutaneously?

If I go IM, whats the correct sized needle to use? And is it limited to certain sites? I always to glute shots.............dont know if I want to make my ass a pin cushion every day for two weeks.

If I go subcutaneouly, Im guessing I use an insulin needle? 29guage x 5/8inch? Any links to the protocol for this type of injection, please post. Im kinda weary to do it this way, just because Im so used to IM injections.

I plan on using 500ius a day for two weeks, starting the day of my last Cypionate/EQ shot. During this time, I will also be taking my last two weeks of Winstrol (winny) tabs and will begin taking 20mg Nolva daily to ensure I dont get any adverse effects from the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG). How long after the last shot of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) can I start my clomid therapy........I believe its 2-3 days? Anyone confirm this? And whats the half life on Winstrol (winny)? I believe its also 2-3 days.

I'd drop the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin ( Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) ) back 1 week (start the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin ( Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) ) a week before your last shot). No diff between sub-q or IM (not that i've noticed). Because Human Chorionic Gonadotropin ( Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) ) is water based, you can use any gauge u want, but if sticking with the glutes ya gotta go with at least a 1" needle.
 
Thanks for the recommendation, but I gotta ask why you think it should be pushed back a week? I guess Im more concerned with when I should take the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) compared to the start of my Clomid. So since I want to take it for two weeks, and I need to wait two weeks after my last shot to let test levels down, I figured my timing was correct.

Unless I take it for 3 weeks and space it out more.....?
 
I say that "just in case." Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) can desentize the leydig cells. Even though you arent using much, there may be some desensitization. If you end up starting clomid a week after your last Human Chorionic Gonadotropin ( Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) ) shot, you will have some time to recover if that happened. If there was no desentization (you will never know), there will be no adverse effects.

I would dispute this statement. Physiologically it doesn't make sense. Blood flow is MUCH higher in muscle vs subq fat. Any drug will be picked up faster IM than subq. Basic pharmacology.
That being said, why would it even matter what the absorption rate was? There's no rush to get the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) on board. Either way is fine, I find the subq stings a bit, IM is fine with a 27 or 30 gauge needle.
 
good call big n...wasnt thinkin about needle size...

I've never seen any evidence that shooting sub-q is more effective than IM...got any studies for me to look at?

OBJECTIVE: The pharmacokinetics and efficiency of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) after subcutaneous (SC) injection was to clarify in comparison with the intramuscular (IM) mode of administration. DESIGN: In a prospective study, the pharmacokinetics of hCG and the response of serum testosterone (T), luteinizing hormone (LH), and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) after an IM and SC injection of 5,000 IU hCG were evaluated up to 144 hours in two randomized groups. SETTING: The study was carried out in a clinical dermatology department providing tertiary care. PARTICIPANTS: Twenty-four healthy male volunteers with a mean age of 22.7 +/- 4.3 years were divided into two groups. INTERVENTIONS: Human chorionic gonadotropin (5,000 IU) was injected IM or SC. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE: Serum concentration of /b-hCG, T, LH, and FSH were evaluated after IM and SC administration of hCG. Differences between the two groups were determined by t-test. RESULTS: Compared with IM administration of hCG, peak serum drug concentration was significantly delayed (P = 0.01) and serum half-life was prolonged (P = 0.01) after SC injection; however, T, LH, and FSH responses were identical. CONCLUSIONS: Subcutaneous application of 5,000 IU hCG is as effective as IM administration in terms of steroidogenesis.
 
thanks for the replies fellas...........I think I will be using a 1in 27gu needle to shoot IM, just feel better that way.

Any other opinions on when the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) should be started? I never considered that desensitization that can occur to the leydig's cells, like ready2explode had said. Im still up in the air about timing.............:(
 
Your plan is OK.
You don't really need to worry about desensitization, it occurs at higher dosages and is temporary.
With low doses (500 IU's as you've outlined) you'll get better testosterone response & test/estradiol ratio...
The half life of stanozolol is 9 hours....
You can go straight into clomid after Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), or you can continue nolva...

IM muscular injections of fast acting water based products such as GH, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), Slin, Vit B-12, etc have an absorbtion rate of 57% verses Sub-Q which is 69%.
 
Great thread.

HCG shots don't sting to me at the time of the shot, they just leave little sore welts. No big deal at all, its just something you'll notice. I'm doing 10,000 ius over 10 days now. This is mid cycle.

I agree that your plan is fine.

One more technical question.........I will need to use a slin needle to measure out 500ius, correct? From what I read in Dangerous Grounds' previous post, 5ius points on a slin needle will be 500ius. If I use a 5/8" 29gu needle, can you still inject IM? Like Big N had said, it shouldnt matter how long the needle is, even if you inject IM........so basically, if I took a slin needle........there shouldnt be a difference if I go subq with it or just straight into my glute.

Just want to be sure........
 
just wanted to bring this back up..........my final question is if i can go straight into my glute/quad whatever IM location i choose with a slin needle, even though it will only be 5/8" long?

i feel like its not quite IM since it will be so shallow, but i guess it wouldnt matter since Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is effective subq as well?

Well i would say you "should" not take any gear untill you know what your doing. And by the post i dont think you do. not trying to flame you. But 190lbs, dont tell us shit. You could be 5'3" and 190 and a big mofo, or you could be 6'8" and 190 and a little guy. We need cycle history.

But the answer is no i dont think 50mgs of Winstrol (winny) will do anything for you every3rd day, maybe every other day, but still not that much.
