Hello guys, just a minute ago i had a little accident while doing a set of deadlifts. It felt like one of the vertebras (lumbar region) almost popped out. had to sit on my knees for couple of minutes before i could get up.Im devastated over the fact that i might not be able to do deadlifts again.Has anyone had a similar problem and successfully recovered?

Im not 100% but if you hurt you back (lumbar) i think you would know about it.
I have osterarthritis and i get pain everyday, im actully thinking about applying for medical pay and not have to work.
I bend over more then 10times and my back stiffens up.. its horrible man, makes me sweat, go red, aggro.. because the pain is very intense.

So if your not in pain right now, or if it only lasted a few seconds.. i think your ok (:

probably this is a disc prolapse , if you have any pain or weakness in your legs
or you can't elevate your feet off the bed you'll probably need to get an xray an MRI of your spine to make sure
if nothing of this happened you get some rest till your back gets better and get back to lifting and make sure you wear a belt ...

Thanks for replies guys.Just barely made it to the hospital, the doctor gave some panadine forte, told me to rest and use the belt next time, what a waste of time.
I got more useful information from here than from the doctor.
so far no pain or numbness in the legs, can still get the feet off the bed.getting out of the bed or off the chair is a mission. Will see what happens in few days.

I ruptured a disc in lower back doing deadlifts. Was in pain for months. Got an MRI and they went in and lanced of the excess. I recoverd and I am deadlifting and squating heavy again. It gets sore from excessive use. Just be safe and get it checked out. And make sure your g2g before u break back into the heavy compound movements. Goodluck.

Start again, start light weight.
Your back is very important, one slip up on your back and your out forever.
make sure your not rounding your back, turn the bar to mirror and make sure your not rounding it or loosing form.
Goodluck
