Just Starting TRT - Endo Prescribed Clomid - Need Advice

Hello,

I'm brand new to the forum. I just spent the past few hours taking in all of the great info on here. Thank you all.

Has anyone had success treating their secondary hypogonadism with clomid only? I'll post my labs below, but directly following is a basic summary of my TRT experience so far. Btw, I'm 45 years old, 5"10, 180lbs, I eat well, and I weight train 3 days per week.

I asked my PCP if I could have have my T levels checked because I was grouchy, miserable, lacking energy, steadily sliding down the libido scale, my progress in the gym has halted, and I'm generally just in a fog. I was referred to an endocrinologist and he prescribed 25mg clomid per day. I've been taking it for about 7 weeks. All of my symptoms persist and I honestly feel no better all, maybe even a little worse. I explained this to my doctor. He said he was willing to put me on Test injections or he could keep me on the clomid and add Anastrozole. We did not get into dosage or frequency or anything like that, yet. I told him I needed a few days to do some research and think about it.

So...what would you guys do? My goal is to eliminate (or as close as possible) all of the crappy symptoms I have. I just want to feel good. Also, in case it figures into your advice - I'm not concerned about my sperm count.

Thanks!

Is the 7/19 blood work while on clomid?

I dont understand why he placed you on Clomid for TRT, Clomid i believe is a weak estrogen that makes you produce less estrogen and causes an increase in natural test. but i think its only for people who want to have kids. Anyways, your testosterone increased but you just added a ton of estrogen too, probably why you dont feel better.

I tried Clomid 25mg a day, to try and restart my HPTA, but it failed. im now on test cyp injects and feel alot better.

My opinion is do testosterone cyp, and add anastrozole if needed. Thats the best route for TRT in my opinion. Im not a professional but just shooting you my idas. Megatron will definetely shoot you some good advice.

Clomid is a SERM. It is not an estrogen. It does not make you produce less estrogen.

By the way, men get their estrogen from aromatization of testosterone.

I was on 50mg Clomid/day for 2.5 years. Raised test levels, but low t symptoms got progressively worse. Jump on the injections!

well you have to figure out if your crappy symp. are actually related to your test levels..

high 400's isn't actually that bad...

Good advice. My PCP put my blood through a battery of tests and everything is on point, other than my T numbers.
