Legendary first cycle thread (with 3J assistance)

yeah so last night well with the new lady so no gym work was done. In all fairness, I got home at 2am so I needed sleep more than anything!

Today was legs, I'll catch up shoulders another day.

10min warm up treadmill walk
5x front squats
4x hack squat
4x kneeling leg curl
4x double leg ext

5x20 calf ext
6x10 single leg off a step calf ext

no sir I am not. not much testicular atrophy to date, bit smaller but I've had no troubles. If I was doing another cycle or using more compounds I would use HCG.

well I went out with her again last night (friday >> as it's now saturday in Aus) and stayed at hers afterwards. Missed arms day so have to make up for it today. She lives a fair distance away from me so I'm going to have to figure out my meals and training better....

Nice!! Good for you, nothing wrong if you missed a session, that means more growing. I hope you got some cardio in at her place at least ;)
 
so the next week is going to be crap as I have two birthdays for dad and brother along with brother's wedding. Bound to miss sessions so made sure I did extra this weekend, where I would usually rest.

Saturday:
Shoulders + biceps

3x DB press
4x machine press
4x DB lat raise, all three drop sets
4x bent over DB rear delt fly
3x shrugs, complete fatigue sets

6x BB curls
6x hammer curls with the last a drop set

Sunday:
chest + triceps

5x BB flat press
4x smith machine decline press
4x seated incline press
4x cable crossover
4x machine fly (PB here)

4x tricep ext
4x weighted dips
4x bent over DB arm extension
 
Too many birthdays and work functions mannnnnn...too many rest days. Have been going to the park during lunch to do pull ups and ab work just to stop myself going insane.
made it to the gym at least today.

Back:
4x Lat pulldowns
6x D-lifts (4-6 rep range)
4x Close grip pull down
4x db rows
3x hyper extensions to failure

only had 45 mins so that had to do it, worked from 7am to 8pm so not much else I can do at the moment...

diet has been pretty consistent though!
Hit a point when I said no more junk food what so ever, took a stand at work again and said no alcohol..so if anything I'm leaner and maybe a little lighter this week.
But we'll see how I'm tracking in my weekly update to you

got my brother married off on Saturday so I made sure to keep my carbs next to nothing as there was bound to be alcohol involved at the wedding.

managed to eat heaps of protein and salad and didn't touch any dessert and cake during the events, so think I did well.

Caught up on my arm day yesterday as I missed Friday night's training....

Arms:
4x weighted dips
4x skull crushers
4x tricep press
1x rope tri ext super duper drop set

5x DB hammer curls across body
5x elbows in, hands out cable curl >>> wanted to target the outside of my biceps which I haven't done for awhile.

still sitting at 200 lbs but am leaner than I was a week or more ago so overall happy with progress so far.

Bring on Christmas :D
 
Hit some legs up yesterday and god it was a good workout. Had to take the elevator out of the gym as I couldn't walk up the stairs....very satisfied.

10min treadmill walk
5x narrow stance leg press
6x front squat (did a PB here so did the heavy set again)
4x seated leg ext
4x standing leg curl

10x seated calf ext

It was the leg press followed by squats that got me. Completed fatigued my quads/glutes and everything was hard to do afterwards.
 
Swear this cycle log makes me out to be a big alcohol than I am. Must just be the time of year...
SO I had a work party yesterday and hit up a few beers, then went home to go to the gym and found they have christmas trading hours and closed at 8pm......WTF

So I drove home, picked up my 20kg weight vest and went around to the local park to do pull ups.
There were a few people smoking weed hanging out there so it was a little different atmosphere wise but that's what I get....

3x close grip chins bodyweight
3x wide grip pull ups bodyweight
3x wide grip pull ups +20kgs
3x close grip chins +20kgs
3x close grip pull ups +20kgs
3x muscle ups until failure with bodyweight

Woke up this morning with tennis elbow so MAY have over done it. Ah well, few days rest over Christmas will sort that out.
 
Back into it as my gym was closed for Christmas and Boxing day. Ate pretty well over X-mas, kept carbs to a min and only had 2 alcoholic beverages the two days so came through relatively well. Dessert were minimal and certainly no chocolates or lollies.

Chest and triceps today:
5x BB Flat press (benched 140kgs (310 lbs) which is a PB over 4 reps)
4x seated incline press
5x wide cable fly
4x DB fly super set with wide pushups to failure

4x triangle push down
4x skull crushers
1x super duper rope ext drop set

left and right shoulders felt pretty aggravated today from early on, mustn't have warmed up as well as normal as they gave me grievance for the rest of the session...
 
bit of an update, been away from my computer heaps but have been smashing meals and owning my workouts. Weighed in tonight at my heaviest ever, 96kgs or 211 lbs. I can probably blame christmas for a bit of this!

I know I've got only a week or so left until the end of my cycle so trying to make the most of it as that's just 2 pins left!

Yesterday's back workout:

4x lat pull over machine
6x dead lifts, not too heavy as I wasn't feeling up to it, was just repping out at 140kgs
4x DB row
couldn't do any more, didn't want to test my limit

10x standing calf ext on a step edge

Today morning was shoulders and abs:
4x behind head smith press
4x supinated grip machine press (right shoulder got inflamed so stopped)
4x db side lat raise
5x db shrugs, aiming for 20 reps

my gymnastics ab routine ///
3x dragon flags until failure
3x wind screen wipers until failure
3x hanging toe touch to pull up bar, until failure

Today evening, was bored and had heaps of energy so did arms:
4x tricep press @ 120kgs, record for me
4x db bent over tricep kickback extension
1x super duper drop set cable ext

6x wide grip bar curls, trying to target a new part of the biceps
6x db hammer curl, different variations. meaning across body, straight up, concentration etc
 
So today my mother asked me over dinner whether I "would ever do something as stupid as steroids?"

Which prompted me to ask her to rethink how she asks questions as if she wants to negatively load them then she'll only get the answer she wants to hear rather than the truth.
So I told her about the few times I've used drugs such as xtc, weed and cocaine and then how I'm on cycle right now. Explained it all, she wasn't happy but it's my choice so she'll have to dig deep and accept it.

Otherwise, I did legs earlier in the day:

5x leg ext, 10-12 reps with as much weight as I could for that rep range

completely spent there

6x seated calf ext machine, full range of motion, 15-20 reps

Very casual in your description of "the talk". I expect to get it again someday, as I did get it on my first go around with PH's.. it's uncomfortable that's for sure. Awesome that you handled it the way you did. I was a little younger at the time, and loads less informed on this subject. I think I'd handle it a lot better next time around.

I suppose I was a little brief so I'll elaborate.

I let my folks lead the discussion, asking their questions and all of them were questions previous and current gf asked me so I was ready for them all. Not to mention, I probably asked them of myself prior to ever cycling...
e.g.
What's my goal?
What are my safe guards?
If something goes wrong, what do I really know and how can I handle it? If not, who can get me help and how readily available is that help?
What's my exit strategy (PCT or mid cycle if required to abort)?

So I answered them all and gave nice long answers showing the level of detail I now know.
All in all the talk went for about 10-15 minutes so was quite quick, but I realised quickly they (parents) didn't have the knowledge to keep up so were just checking to make sure I do. After realising that I settled their nerves by explaining the blood tests and talks I had had previously with the doctor. Referring to an authority figure sure helped my argument.

Should elucidate that I told my new gf about me being on cycle the other day. Her response was pretty nonchalant, asking if it would effect our relationship and whether potentially, down the track, kids may be affected. After answering that she seemed satisfied and said she trusts me. As much as I can't be upset about this type of reaction, I MAYBE wish she had cared a little more as she wasn't really worried in the slightest...
 
So long as you explained the risks involved.. be happy she accepted it, now you don't have to toss her out. You told her there's still a possibility you won't recover right, that you could be injecting forever, and fertility is iffy?
