lower back is killing me

I screwed my back with deadlifts. If you are a bodybuilder, I wouldn't even do deadlifts....not worth it.

I disagree deadilfts is the king of all lifts imo. That and squats. Big mass builders. You'd be short changing yourself if you didn't do them. I did some yesterday for the first time in a while. Went up to 405 x 8.

seems u got a lot to learn about the sport of bodybuilding bro... deadlifts have been the bread and butter for back development for the Olympia champs since Yates

even Phil Heath has said that he started do deads just before turning pro because of how necessary they are to shine on the Olympia stage... and he won last year ;)

true back thickness is very difficult without deads, no argument

^^^ exactly, deads are my favorite exercise. you feel like a beast after deads, great mass and strength builder.

i do squat-bench-deadlift every week

well its been been a week now and seems like like my back isnt getting any better and to add insult it injury ive got a cold now too on top of my back injury i feel like a grampa when hanging with my friends, cant walk fast cant bend over and everytime i cough or sneeze my damn back feels it too what should i do? is it time to go to the doctors or chiropractors? or should i give it another week and see how it goes? its hard to even get out of bed or put on socks

Seems like a lot of energy waisting machismo here... Our man, Smalldude, might indeed be a small dude. He identifies as "a rookie." And he is in pain. Which is not getting better. Bragging about dead lifting 400 while advising the man to buy a belt and stop whining, is the training eqivilent of telling a newbie to add tren to his first cycle. Our man, "Smalldude," might be out of the game for 6 mos. If he's seriously hurt himself. He needs to see a doctor ASAP. A person needing lower back surgery tends to become a lower back patient for life. I agree, dead lifting is important for mass building, but those new to training might be better off building a strong lower back before adding this complex move to their workout. Start with t-bar and barbell rows and work up to deadlifting in about a year.

i advised a belt . i DID NOT accuse him of whining .

Sorry DADAWG, but I gotta stand by my post here. For the record, I wasn't aiming my comments at you in particular. My point, which perhaps I stated too subtly, was that when new members post questions about their cycles... We demand stats and history. No one thought to ask smalldude this guestion in relationship to his training! Bros, the dude can't even put on his own socks!!!! Perhaps it's too soon to worry about how he's doing his deadlifts. Maybe he shouldn't be doing them at all.
A word to the wise... Do Not let gym machismo deter you from your personal goals. Think. Use your resources. Your gym has a training staff. Ask for help if you don't know. Be SANE..... Stay in the game.
