The R-O version is liquid right? How much of it is equal to 1mg? Is it any less effective in liquid form?

Are there any other options to propescia that are cheaper? I can't afford my propescia prescription anymore. It's gotten waaaaay too expensive.

Duestricide(sp?) any cheaper?

Yes, not sure on their exact dose - but it's usually at 5mg/ml. If so, then 1/5cc would give 1mg. I am not aware of any other cheaper products in pill form than propecia.

It depends on the concentration. If they offer 5mg/mL, than 1/5 of a mL is 1mg. It is apparently out of stock over there.

You take that stuff for MBP or what? Finasteride has apparently made some men hypogonadal, unfortuantely.

It depends WHY you are thinning. Itl block an enzyme conversion to DHT, but wont block DHT itself, at the scalp or anywhere else. Some people have the best luck using a nizoral shampoo.

Just looked it up and most of the info said it was used for anti-dandruff ... ? What gives?

Finpecia

There is a generic out there made by Cipla called Finpecia. With a lil diligence you could find an online pharma ( if you run that way ) that sells it for about $100 US for 100 tabs 1mg Finasteride. The big difference is that the tablets are not coated. This could be a problem if there are females around you that are or may be preggers. I guess Finasteride does nasty shit to the fetus even in the most microscopic of does. Propecia from Merck is coated.

Nizoral has Ketoconazole which is an anti-bacterial used to fight a certain kind of dandruff caused by bacteria. Ketoconazole also happens to be anti-androgen. Applied topically to the scalp it can reduce androgens binding to receptors in your hair follicles. In the US Nizorla is OTC at 1%. For 2% it is available with a prescription or at any number of online pharmas. By itself it does not have a huge effect. However together with 1mg Finasteride and 5% Minoxidil many people can stop hair loss and potentially regrow hair.

I have been on the combo since 98 and I went from seriously thinning hair to having the most among my associates. I get all three w/o a precription. Tho my doctor does know I use them.
