make sure the needle is all the way in when you aspirate... lol

today... went to shoot my quad... and aspirated... bubbles... ok... didnt note i still had a decent bit of pin out... when i went to plunge it sunk all the way, and thankfully i had some air in the tip... PAIN, pain i knew... i withdrew and saw blood in the needle... almost big whoops..

of course then i went to put on a new pin and couldnt get the old one off, ended up losing everything in the syringe over it.

What I do if I have a 1.5", I just stick it in enough and hold it to make sure it wont go in any further. The only place I stick 1.5" all the way in is my glute.

I use Leur-Lock too and they get stuck every once in a while. Probably just twisting them too tight out of paranoia that it could come off.

Imo i think the chances of you actually injecting into a vein are very small. my wife is a phlebotomist and she says that the needles that are used for injecting are cut differently. so the it is more probable to nic the vein and cause bleeding then actually injecting into your blood stream. i mea think about it you have all had blood work done at some point. that needle has to go in on a specific angle to be in the vein. i have niced veins before and have had a little blood no worries and no pain. also think about it. i have intra muscualr injections from the dr. ex. tetanus shot. and various others and never once did they aspirate the needle!!!

I dont aspirate and never have.Zero problems here..............

Its a good idea to aspirate.I always do... I'd hate to find out what happens when you inject directly into a vein.

I've heard you'll hit the floor passed the hell out before you die tho.

Okay I'm a newb and my wife shoots me most of the time. When we started out I had her aspirate and I felt her moving the needle around in my glute.I swear she pulled it halfway out then buried it again while fumbling around with the syringe. She fugged me up and I could barely walk for days,I missed my heavy leg day that week because of it.Getting skewered repeatedly by a 1.5" 22 ga pin is no fun.

In my case I told her to just bury it and shoot because if I make things tougher for her I will pay a price with a knot or wicked soreness.I've been on since 12-15-09 and we've never shot into a vein.I'm 250 with a big ass and thick quads so we have large areas to shoot.

In fairness to my wife she is 100X better now then she was 6 months ago.She was getting herself overhyped thinking she was going to hurt me then and she would screw up because she was nervous. She got alot of practice when I did EOD injections for 3 months.

My schedule calls for a injection today and I'll take the advice of vets and have her aspirate.I think she'll be fine now...........

I prefer pinning quads (delts 2nd) because I can see what the hell I'm doing and can make sure there is minimal movement during the whole process. Haven't tried pec's or calves yet...

And I also always aspirate just like I learned here on Ology...

Has anyone ever injected into a vein? Just wondering what it would do?

I hit a vein twice, the worst feeling imaginable became extremely lightheaded, coughing like crazy, rapid heart beat it wasn't fun. Felt like I was going to die for 5 minutes. :crying:

The same thing happened to me, and I started sweating like crazy. I've never been so scared in my life :(
