Massaging "under the muscle implant" question.

Haven't tried it yet. I went to the doctor today and as I suspected, the infection on the left side that I had at Easter is back again...too painful to do what you suggested right now, but maybe after the antibiotics kick in for a week or so. Grrr...another 10 days of antibiotics. I am SOOOO ready to be better! My body is not liking the stitches so the doc pulled a few out today...hope this helps.

Where are your stitches? Did you go through right under the nipple? That sucks that your infection is back...get well soon!

I had a lift as well as implants, so my scars are like this:

I'm having trouble with the left side only, in the verticle stitching. Another stitch was sticking out so I just tugged it out with a tweazer and applied the topical antibiotic ointment and covered it up. There was some draining coming through two spots where the stitches popped, but it had stopped for a few days. It just started back up again. Grrrrrrrrrrr! Nothing sexier than having a gauze pad taped to your boob! LOL I am SOOOO ready to be over this shit! But, better dealing with this for a little while than a lifetime with boobs that made me cry. I know it'll all be worth it eventually.

Hang on there Mrs. Puddles!!! You will get there eventually and when u do your body will be even more amazing!!

Thanks, Goat. And good luck with your back. Take it easy, avoid the deadlifts and stuff...eventually you should be able to figure out which free weights you can do and what you'll need to use machines for.

The initial infection hadn't completely gone away even after 10 days of Cipro. I'm a slow healer typically, so I was expecting this. Infection is fairly common with the lift procedure too. I wasn't getting much sleep...averaging maybe 5 hrs a day...I'm sure that's not helping either.

Try and get at least 8 hours until you get a handle on the infection. I laid off of working out after I saw what happened to my friend...you may have to just take it easy for a while...

....muscle has memory and you'll be back in the game in no time flat...

I'm trying to get sleep, but I never seem to be able to sleep as much as I should. A week or two ago I got fed up with being wide eyed and bushy tailed 'till 3am and later, so I took xanax 3 nights in a row after 2am rolled around and I was still not sleepy. I had to stop that because I couldn't put a sentence together clearly. I had to take double doses of xanax in order for it to work. I've tried everything from warm milk to vallerian root and this is just how I am. My dad's the same way...I wonder if things like sleep requirements are inheritted traits?

I'm not worried about loosing muscle. I know once I'm back in there I'll fix myself back up in no time. Setbacks like this aren't a huge issue for me since I'm not going to compete or anything but I really miss the mental and physical wellbeing I get from lifting regularly. At least the pilates is giving me a sense of accomplishment. :)

Hey there, newbie here. Iwas reading this and had a comment and a question.. My question, if you have your significant other stand on you to get them into their pockets-is there chance for rupture, I know these things are supposed to be strong, but Im afraid Id pop! do you keep your arms out, to side , down?
Also, I had mine done a year ago, went from petite A (trainer bra size) to 380cc (smallC-large B) and so I feel you.I recovered rather quick, but I didnt have a tuck or anything. Are you rubbing Vitamin E (caps) on your scars? I was told AFTER my surgery I could puncture the caps and rub the VE oil onto my scars, it helps smooth out the scar. It did. Not to tan -the scar- for a year, itll stay red permanently-like fresh baby skin- Id tan but Id use black electrical tape, cut the length of the scars- and in half ,so not as thick, and put that over my scars while I tanned. It was kinda a pain doing that for a year, but in the end youll be glad you did, especially if you have them under, uppward and around your nipple.I used to put all day wear liquid makeup over them sealed with pressed powder during the day-in summer- to assure no light was getting in.
I highly recommend anyone getting theirs done to go under the muscle. Over just looks to much like a candy dish, and fake. they are too round and perky.especially when you can see them ripple when you move.so many people cant believe mine are fake, but they are only average size-for now- but they are made from mcgahn and out of the thicker shell. for women with more toned and tight bodies- I was told- that the thicker shell is more fitting since the rest of your body, especially upper, is so tight and toned , that thin shelled ones would appear unatural and you would see the ripple even more.as far as working out. I had to be very careful, I healed quick, but was very weak in that area and every once in a while I would feel a zapping sensation across my chest. I figured Id just do tonning exersise for that area for about 6 months especially since I have boobs now I dint think I needed big pec muscles yet-until I was healed. good luck. and I wish you the best!

you shouldn't be able to pop them by the exercise i told you about... i tried in my hands to squeeze and twist and pop one and could not do it..they are really tough

thanx...you TRIED to pop one? got some free time do ya? he he. my doc said if they were to pop or leak I have a warranty on them(there like my little sports cars. hehe) and if they break they cover the cost of the implant up to 10 years. So I guess I wouldnt mind falling down the stairs.... oops, guess Ill get em bigger since your in there.... he he. gotta go y'all. check back in on monday.
much love

yeah... when me and the wife went in for the consultation, the doc pitched me one and said here play with this for a while... they have serial #'s on them too.. yes most are warranteed, ie..flat tire as my doc called it...and they know if they put it in or not cause of the serial no....they sure are fun and perty to look at

LOL I carry my warranty card with serial # in my purse. Who knows when I'll need that info, but at least I'll know where it is, right next to my credit cards. ;) We played around with the implants too. I had brought an old bra with me that I wore last summer, 36DDD and stuffed the cups with different sizes until we settled on the 450's. After having the DDD look again, I decided that was bigger than I wanted, so we went with what we figured would put me at a D to DD. I think we hit it right. I've bought one bra, strapless from Victoria Secrets, 38D. I didn't expect to have to increase the number size...maybe it's just the cut of this bra...or maybe it's because they're under the muscle?

I had to stop the vitamin e because the doc. said it may be contributing to the infection, been using antibiotic ointments instead plus taking the vit. e orally. I've got the infection again, doing another round of antibiotics, but I'm thinking it's a staph infection. Gonna get it cultured tomorrow.

Thanks for the tanning info. Someone else also mentioned to me that I should stop tanning prior to and after surgery for a while due to scaring issues. I'm happy with how the skin meets up...can't even call it a scar really, but it gets really red and irritated when I shower...tried using Dove, Caress, and antibacterial soaps, but even just water seems to irritate it right now.

I agree about going under the muscle for a more natural look, but most importantly, for future mamograms. I've gotten "zapped" a few times. Nearly took my breath away last week...I was taking off my jacket and I just let my arm go back too far and got a wicked sting from my pec to my nipple that I felt for nearly a minute afterwards. Sometimes I'll get zapped for no apparent reason too...really snaps ya awake quick! I tried to go swimming this week...couldn't even doggy paddle for long before the pecs were cramping up. I had to laugh when I swam under water though...the squeak in the left side was really loud under water. It's like a quiet doggy squeak toy...my friend said they should make little squeeze dolls of me and sell them at the toy store. LOL

Sorry Puddles you are having some trouble.

But before you know it; it will be all over..

And you will be so GLAD!! :D

How about Aloe? (Just from the plant.) Can you put that on?

I have an aloe plant outside, but I'm not going to put anything on until I get this culture done. Right now even water seems to be irritating me. I AM glad I had this done though...just gotta deal with this setback and be patient.

I was using Bactroban...it's a prescription, then the doc switched me over to something even stronger. Going to my friend's place for a culture in an hour. This will at least determine exactly what kind of infection we're dealing with. :)
