matt hughes a true champion

He got dominated 1st and 2nd round because he could not control Bj Penns hips and almost got caught in the triangle\arm bar but sucked it up untill the end of the round, but 3 rd round he got it done and got him in the crucifix and droped bombs till the ref stopped it.

Bj is a great fighter and if he had the gass to go 5 rounds he could have given matt more trouble, but conditioning is part of being a champ.

Diego on the rise in 170lbs , he is champion material but is still young.
GSP and matt hughes will be a great match aswell and looking foward to it.

I had Matt in the lead in the 2nd until he got caught in the triangle/armbar. He sat in that thing for 90 seconds. With about 2-3 seconds left in the round, he slipped the armbar and started backing out of the triangle. Another 30 seconds in the round, and we would have seen him on top...throwing bombs at BJ.

BJ is one seriously talented cat...he just won't train like he should. His cardio sucks.

I was amazed to see Matt unable to take him down. that says some crazy shit about BJ's game.

Matt's cardio owned BJ though.

A country boy CAN survive.

bj got called into this fight with very short notice.. because gsp dropped. he did not have enough time to get his conditioning fully up..

WOuldn't matter if he had 6 years. BJ's attitude toward training is why his conditioning is off. He had plenty of notice, and gased against GSP. His conditioning is his Achilles heel. He would rather eat pizza and surf than do cardio. He figures that since his athleticism and his BJJ are superb to 99% of his opponents, he can just go dominate. 99% of the time, he can.

Reminds me of a Mexican boxer with the same attitude. His name is Jose Luis Lopez and he's extremely talented, but he's also the laziest person when it comes to training. He'd rather surf than spar or run. Guy could have been the greatest welterweight champion ever, no kidding.

he didn't get fatigued, he broke his rip and then he couldn't do anything to defend himself, he would of beat that pussy hughes if that didn't happen. Now Hughes hurt his groin and won't be able to fight GSP for a little while longer. By that time he will fight the TUF 4 guys, and dominate them b/c imo they suck
