Metal Militia Bench DVD

If you are stuck benching shirted without an experienced hand to guide you along, you want to pick up this DVD. It really goes through step by step on how to set yourself up into the shirt, and onto the bench once in the shirt to keep it where you want it - and the bench setup itself applies to raw bench work as well (trap placement, etc).

It also shows some 'tricks' to getting the bar to touch, even after setting up a denim shirt on a female VERY tight, she touched with 135 (hey the shirt looked tight to me).

P.S. Excellent, albeit brief footage of Kara Bohigian in Underground Strength #6. DAMNIT, just so hot. Plus you get to see her break Ryan Kennely's face, and I'm sure someone here would get off to that.

that shirt was loose lol
its a great dvd lots of little pointers that go inot benching with shirt

I waited so long for the DVD (some kind of mix up) that I only ended up using it twice and was getting about 30# out of the shirt, ala Greg Chabot.

I think monday or tuesday I will crawl into it again after watching the DVD once or twice more and see what I can do. I raw benched 425 before and can't quite get 455 in the shirt, PLUS I wasn't touching in it and its about 2.5" oversized. I am going to probably water it down a bit for starters and try to play with 315 for a set or two to see whats going on and then go from there.

I'm pretty hopefull though that I will see some big improvement with everything talked about in the DVD, all the way down to the feet placement. One problem I did run into with the shirt more than once was talked about in the DVD, and thats keeping it from creeping up on me, now I know how to avoid that. I was seriously almost choking myself a couple times, which was also probably half of the reason why it wanted to go to my nip line which is not where I bench even raw.

So, monday or tuesday :)

well glad you got something out of the dvd..they know their shirts..you should have asked on here too PB dawg or one of us would have been able to help ya too ...

i would prolly warm raw to 315 for a single maybe start at 365 in the shirt..i also wouldnt worry too much about touching right now since your not getting ready for a meet..also yor gonna go in and have a thousand things going on in your head after watching that tape lol..i think the most important thing you can do is get inot the correct set up every time itll make a world of a difference..if you only improve on 1 thing next time you bench make it that and then worry about something else the next time

Speaking of shirts, just at my doorstep was a 2ply titan F6, back is cut open and ready to go. I may put it on and try suicide on Thursday, not sure.

PB and Dawg have helped me out, but I never asked them to re-write the book for me... I have of course surfed what I can too, but covering that much info, and actually picking up a word and turning it into a physical thing, isn't always so easy. Plus I have to make it work for me, not everyone lies on the bench exactly the same... so thats next.

I've been perfecting my bench technique since sometime in 2002 :laugh4: still going.

you will have to continue perfecting your technique as long as you lift lol . remember dont make too many changes at 1 time because you wont know which ones are helping or hurting you .
