Military Tape Test

This appears to be the more appropriate forum..

Does anyone know how accurate the military tape test (for guys) to determine Bodyfat % is?

For those unfamiliar with this test, they measure your neck, waist (at the navel) and plug that into a formula along with your height and weight and come up with a bodyfat number.

The Tape Test is a joke to many ways to beat it and everyone taking those measurments usually round up or down so if you 34 and a 1/4 waist they will just say 34 because they either don't know how to read a tape or are just to fucking lazy.

Forget the laziness....its just plain fucking stupid and inaccurate...the military like always is WAY behind the power curve...yet they will discharge guys for being above the weight standard without using an ACCURATE way to measure it

had a guy @ 9% tape @ 22%...thats how accurate it is

Ya I had a few buddies that got discharged for it, they were great soldiers just had a eating problem lol
