Morning wood?????

This might be a dumb question but what is the exact relation to your test levels and morning wood, and why is it brought up so much with low t??? Even when I had low t (124) I would have morning wood but that was mostly cause I had to piss really bad.......

Remember being in high school and getting a raging hard-on during class for no reason? that's what testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) morning wood is like. At least for me.

DAMN! NOTHING LIKE THOSE IN CLASS, HIGH SCHOOL HARD-ONS! SITTING ACROSS FROM A CHEERLEADER THAT YOU HAD THE HOTS FOR!! THE GOOD OLE DAYS!! :bigok:

I normally have to pee also to get it down (unless I roll the wife over and go to town at 2am like I've been doing lately, but then I still gotta pee after that lol). At least I can't knock her up (again) yet.....

Shit bro it seems like since I start on my real Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) anytime I touch my bed that fucker is up and ready to go hell I hit the bed gtg wake in the middle of the night gtg and I'm still gtg when I get up ha the wife liked it at first but I think she's starting to get a little tired

I believe morning wood is a good indicator that your test and estrogen levels are at the right levels. Too high or too low = no morning wood.

I ask this cause I see a lot of people refer to having morning wood, since I switched to prop I haven't had morning wood once yet... Don't know if that means I should be concerned or not... With cyp I would have it but in the last few weeks since I switched over nada?.?..... I don't feel like a raging hormone all the time either, which isn't a bad thing but does that mean its not working for me???

Morning wood is my indicator that everything is as it should be!

Illtemper, I would talk to your people about estrogen levels maybe being a bit out of whack.

I honesty don't remember the last time I had morning wood (except w/cialis the day before), seriously, it's been at least 20 years. Seems really odd w/T at 124. And it's not because you had to pee, because that's what I do EVERY morning. No wood, not even a little, even if I have to piss like a race horse. 124 has got to suck. I know it does with twice that.

I totally agree Zeek.

It makes me wonder. I read numbers, like e2 20-30, T 800+, etc. Is there a ratio of T to E? Like if T is 1000, then E is fine at 50? I don't have my E2 yet, but total Estrogens was only 58, yet I know that they're way off.

What frustrated me is frequent morning and mid night wood then during the day the old drive is not there.

Morning wood is somewhat complicated. If you take too much Aromatase inhibitor (AI) you may not get it. Too much e2 and you may not get it. Too much stimulation from too fast of a testosterone release (propionate) and you may not get it (due to excessive sympathetic nervous stimulation inhibiting the parasympathetic night time response of proper vasodilation/relaxation). High BP is also along these lines and may inhibit it. Too low of a dopamine level (say from excessive sex or working out the day of your sleep or excessive stress) may inhibit it.

I think the main factor is dopamine and the integrity of the nervous system though (which testosterone helps recharge). Something like dostinex should give you morning wood resembling a ballistic missile. My morning wood is hit or miss on propionate. Cypionate seems to be the sweet spot.

People say test is test but no it isn't. There has been a study done that showed longer esters actually offered significantly greater nitrogen retention (possibly due to higher estrogen conversion). I also get more massive on bigger esters even at testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) doses. Enanthate gives me significantly more estrogen stress than prop or even cypionate. To say these drugs behave exactly alike is not equal to my experience with them.

On a side note prednisone or hydrocortisone may improve morning wood as well. I do not recommend prednisone at all but when I took it briefly for a week I had good morning wood as well when I was trying to find the sweet spot. It is because it induces vasodilation.

Think about it - testosterone is fairly stable throughout the night compared to day time levels (maybe a 20% variance). But cortisol levels are very low at night and raise in the morning to wake you up with testosterone. Both stimulate dopamine. Cortisol is a vasodilator.

Of course having a low SHBG helps.

My morning wood has been terrible in trt. I think, pretty sure it was better pre-trt! I think it's much more than just a shot of cyp and an AI.

Man, I havent had morning wood in forever. I was just wondering if I was just getting to old (31) and a while ago (6 months ago) I did a cycle and it was my first but my PCT was very weak due to my buddy giving me shitty advice and shitty gear.

Well need less to say my T-Levels are low, my body hasnt recovered and no morning wood. Hell I dont even have the desire lately.

I am wanting to take another cycle but I am more focused on purchasing it my self this time and educating myself better this time. But prior to doing all that I am going to take some D-Aspartic Acid and see if my body can get re-vamped before having to jump on the cycle bus again.

How many of you guys are using a PDE-5 inhibitor along with your protocol? I'm sure that makes a difference between a natty induced morning wood and one from Viagra, cialis etc...

Just curious as to if this is just an issue for guys on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) without the additional help or if everyone goes through this while on trt?
