Muscle soreness

Exotic is Erotic...
I trained my legs super hard Thursday night, by Saturday my calves started to feel sore. I woke up this Morning (day 3 after legs) and its painful to walk they are hurt so much.

How can I keep myself from getting this sore?
Should I be taking any vitamins or supplements to help prevent it from getting this bad?

Please help

Nothing you can take. Happens to me EVERY TIME when I get back into the gym and hit them hard. The next time you hit them hard they won't get that bad. You just haven't been hitting them very good or at all...that's why it hurts.

I hate it...I have to walk on my tippy toes. If you stay out of the gym for a while then come back...make sure your first day back on LEGS...you go super-ass easy!!

I work my legs once a week; this is just the first time working them as much as I did plus we did new exercises that seemed to hit different parts of the legs when changing the position of my feet.

I run during the week also so I dont understand why the soreness hasnt gone away yet

Some people experience soreness more than others, there's no evidence that soreness produces growth. It just means that you probably "hit" & worked some muscles that you don't normally train. When u do this there's an accumulation lactic accid in the muscle, lactic acid irritates the muscles and cause soreness, (even though lactid acid clears the muscle soon after the excercise...when training the muscle u could cause it to "tear" & this will give you the soreness.. Sometimes you won't feel the soreness right away & some people experience it after a day or 2 & for some it lasts longer than others.
The muscle tears & the body's way to repair this is by increasing white blood cells in the muscle & this causes swelling & soreness.

It can take upto 5 days for the muscle to completely heal...depending on the intensity of the workout.

I personally dont' always feel soreness, & make good gains.

Take some Ibuprofen before u lift & after.
& make sure that you are allowing those muscle enough rest.

Thank you Mr P
I will try that :) and I am not scheduled to work legs again until Thursday.

Calves are a bitch to hit hard and heavy if you haven't done it in a while.

I look like a ballet dancing fruitloop walking around the next few days
