I can now understand why people usually get drunk before getting a tattoo, specially one on your foot. :insane2:

Nice, Mrs P!!! Sometimes tattoos are symbolic. What's the story behind your tattoo?

...to some getting a tattoo is addictive. you just can't have one. Are you thinking of getting another?

Love the design. I have a couple myself and anything near bone where there is no cushion hurts! Like kreiger said they do get addicting. It looks like the artist did a great job on it as well. Nice ink!

The one thing on my mind the whole time was my girls reaction..
I worried about sending the wrong message to them, eventhough I don't believe in the stereotyping & misconceptions when it comes to how tattoos are viewed, what my girls think is important to me..

I think if they decide to get one when they are grown I would support them too.

Thanks
You know it did take me a long time to decide, I always wanted one since I was probably 19 or so & never went for it until now..
Tell the Mrs to pm me, I'll convince her ..lol :)

Well this one the design itself is not really symbolic, but getting the tattoo itself has meaning to me, my 16th wedding anniversary is in a few days & I said what better time than now, the experience was liberating, I'm older now & I think I appreciate it more.

I want to get one more on my side torso & I do want to include my daughters initials & my husband & my initials.. not sure exactly what it will be yet.

It looks great!!!! :)

I find taking some motrin before getting ink helps with the pain and inflamation. If you drink it will actually be worse cause it thins your blood and makes it harder for the artist to tat you, which can lead to him pressing harder or having uneven color :(

I think it came out beautiful though, I always think they're worth the pain - just like working out (diet and exercise) is worth the results :)

Good advise alogia, I was kidding about the alcohol thou, lol
I would think it could also cause u to possibly bleed more, right ?

You are right it's definitely worth it..
Your tat looks awesome too btw :)

Increase your carb intake before your next session. The spike in carbs will actually help your body absorb the pain. I have a "few" tats...

very nice tattoo Mrs P

i have no tattoos. i want to get a sleeve on my right arm in the future tho. it will be tribute to my grandma

Yeah the alcohol causes you to bleed more since it thins your blood. Other medications do that as well, most steriods will affect it as well, but not seriously that you cant get work done while on cycle.

Thanks :) I cant wait till the color is done and the tail is added. I have had 2 sittings to add color (have 1 more, and then can start on the tail). It looks sooo much better/different since the color got added. It's amazing what a lil change can do :)

I'm already plannin out my next tattoo... all my tats mean something to me. They either mark changes in me, events in my life and/or things that are important to me. I didnt get my first tat till I was 27, and I had wanted it for over 5 years before I got it. Now when I plan out a tat I make sure I still want it after at least a year before I go to get it. I want to be sure since what I get will be thre for the rest of my life.

I think its great that you designed it, makes it mean sooo much more to you.

My husband has kids from his first marriage and both me and him have tattoos. Also my father has tattoos (old Navy tats from like the late 1940's / early 1950's). Him having tattoos didnt influence my decision. It actually made me more hesitant since over the years they have changed in appearance and he claims he regrets having gotten them. I think you tattoo will make your kids more conscious of being able to make their own decisions on whats right for them and their bodies when they are old enough :)
