my strangest injury on record.

Charles Bronson

old timey gentleman
so i woke up in the middle of the night with a leg cramp , hamstring muscles of my left leg was in complete spasm and locked up heel to ass tight as a drum..

it took ALL my strength to extend my leg fully , then hold it straight until the cramping ceased. i mean it took a huge effort to lengthen those hamstrings and get the cramp under control..

with so much swelling and inflammation its hard to know just how badly I'm even hurt!

fingers crossed, time will tell

anybody here had a similar experience while on cycle???

Whoa, wtf...Is that from after it cramped? Saying potassium / water in this situation just doesn't seem right. I'm curious myself to know what could have caused it to be that bad. What are you cycling?

Whoa! Is right shit I hope your alright brotha that shot looks painful. I have never seen anything like that. I am also curious on what you are cycling

I got a bruise like that from getting leg kicked from a thai boxer twice in the same spot, in the same exact place. Shit turned every different color of the rainbow while it was healing. Thats crazy to have bleeding like that and not know where it came from...

Holy shit what were you dreaming about? Looks like a slight tear. Ice, Anti inflamatories, and compression. I have torn my left bicep twice and compression with voodoo floss bands for about 5 minutes at a time a couple times a day really helped the healing process. If you dont want to buy the bands you can buy a bicycle tire tube and cut it in half right at the valve stem to wrap with that.

I get mad cramps when I cycle but mostly in calves or toes.. foot area. it seems like every time I stretch it the morning when I wake up I get one.

super depressed right now, this sucks..

brothers, this was a totally F****d week for me; this injury was just the proverbial cherry on top

started off the fun when i went into the docs for an xray. found out i had a stress fracture of my fibula.

this translates into no boxing for the next 6 weeks - kills my current training schedule and really mucks up my whole cycle

i had been taking BC powders and ibuprofen for the pain with that stress fracture..

i got hiccups that lasted for over 3 hours with horrible heart burn that seemed to come from no where (hadn't eaten anything spicy)

doc told me i had a stomach ulcer due to taking all the NSAIDS.

i cut out the NSAIDS and changed my diet - i signed up with 3J's ! yeah!!!

then i picked up a 24 hour flu bug ( nausea and diarrhea )

the flu bug is where i lost so much fluids and became dehydrated - brought on the cramp

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

my cycle: 16 weeks test cyp @900 wk , 12 weeks deca @425 wk, 4 weeks dbol @50 mgs ed

super interested in the "voodoo floss bands" - hit me up with the 411 for sure, thanks

yea, hams are always tight after training.. has to be more than one factor, this was so extreme..

i did muay thai as a pro, the bruise looks similar to a lowkick injury - but feels more like a stab wound than blunt trauma.

I've had docs and nurses in the past that have told me to try and relax when you get a cramp, to let it pass.. but man - this cramp kicked off with so much spasm i was already in a huge amount of pain. never seen cramping this intense, this powerful...

I used to have extreme cramps ( I think they're more like a seizes ) After training biceps, back, or legs. Only in my quads, hams, and biceps. INSANE leg sizes especially. They started 2 hours post workout and were not from dehydration. They go away when I lower my carbs, or use creatine for some reason.. I'm pretty sure It had something to do with lactic acid.

Shit looks real painfull, hope you get better. I have spasms at night as well. On night i had a spasm as i was sleeping and accidently punched my wife in the face. There was no real force behind it but she wasnt too happy with me the next day.

just wanted to tell you guys thanks for the positive comments and support

day 5..

still experiencing intense pain, swelling is ridiculous ( my leg doesn't normally look like a god damn turkey drumstick )

doctor checked me out, was super fucking nervous going into the exam..

knee joint is stable, and my tendons all checked out for strength and function

- no ligament tears or tendon damage -

huzzah huzzah!!!!

if a hematoma develops i will have to have surgery to remove it.. but so far so good - fingers crossed

other than that i can ( and will ) heal naturally.

huge relief..

that is horrible looking man. glad to see there was no tears and that you went to the doctor. hope everything clears up

You have that kind of internal bleeding WITHOUT a tear??! WOW. The last time I saw bruising like that was when a buddy damn near tore his pectoralis minor straight off his chest during a really heavy set. Are you on blood thinners by chance? (You mentioned NSAIDs, but Aspirin/BP meds/etc *can* do that)

Hoping for a speedy recovery too, that is a lot to happen in such a short period of time!
