I always have a bottle of amoxicillin and penicillin suspension on hand just in case. I know, a little over the top but hey it's good to be prepared

I'll let you in on a little secret....the anti-biotics that they make for treating animals contain the same drug as the brand name human versions. The quality control for vet products in the U.S. has the same standards generally as controls for humans. The amoxicillin is made for fish, the penicillin is made for livestock.
