New Bench Press PR Today!

Today was max day on bench press.

My new PR is 335.

Almost got 340 but my hamstrings cramped up at the very end of the lift and down went the bar.

My bodyweight is 169 today. I wanted to get 340 to realize my goal of two times my bodyweight. Shit 3 pounds short. Damn...That sucks, but it is great at the same time. Old PR was 325.
 
Hey can someone tell me if my warmup was appropriate for a max lift?

Never exactly sure how many sets and how many reps to use for warmup on max day.

45x25 warmup
135x8 warmup
185x2 warmup
235x3 warmup
275x1 warmup
310x1 warmup
340 failed lift
335x1 PR
340 failed lift
 
congrats on your new PR, twice your weight is a massive lift!!!
I have no idea about the warm up, but it looks ok to me

that'll work. congrats on the pr. give at least a month before you try it again.

Right now I'd kill to be able to do 2xBW.......closest I ever came was 365 when I weighed 195.



The new goal is 375 maybe I'll get that next year.
