New Bulk with 3J's Nutrition Network

Last year in August I made the decision to start bodybuilding competitively. I knew I had a long way to go, so after some research I decided to hire 3J as my coach. I couldn't find any negative posts anywhere, and the price was more than reasonable. So last year at the end of August, we started bulking. I was at 218 lbs. and I was roughly 12% BF. We bulked up to 273, then came back down to 221.6 lbs for my first contest. After several conversations with 3J, I decided to step it up and really make a push to one day win my pro card. So on August 19th, 2 days after my first competition, we started bulking. I will be keeping somewhat of a log so anyone who's interested can track my progress.

On August 19th, I weighed in at 232.0 lbs. Here are pics from that morning:

You arms look like donkey dicks! Good job.

Oh you're just naturally vascular in the arm area - you can already see a difference, unless of course you have a pump in that second pic.

I will also attach a spreadsheet that shows my bi-weekly measurements that I send to 3J so he can track my progress and keep me on the right path, but I need to figure out how first.

As I said earlier, I will also post pics and stats every 2 weeks so anybody who's interested in following.

To anybody on the fence about hiring 3J, do yourself a favor and give it a shot. I wouldn't be where I am today without him. His results speak for themselves. But his services are so much more than that. He is quick to respond whenever I have a question, which is quite often. And he is patient and understanding, and has really instilled confidence in me. Although he and I have actually never met in person, I consider him a friend, and I trust him to lead me down the right path (safely!) to get where I want to go. He always puts my health and safety first, which my family and I are very grateful for. I know that he treats all of his clients the same way, but I usually feel like I am his only client. That's hard to find these days.

I'll stop ranting now. See you in a couple of weeks.

There's a pump in the second pic. I had just finished doing my chest workout, and wanted to send 3J some progress pics. After seeing them, he switched my chest workout so that my chest can catch up to the rest of my body. The man knows what he's doing.

Yes, they are. Last year we really built a solid foundation to work off of. Now we are stepping it up and really packing on the mass. 3J believes, and I agree, that I need to add about 20-30 lbs. of muscle to get where I want to be.

Yeah his portfolio speaks volumes. I would use him now, but I'm sculpting myself nicely at the moment - when I hit a round block I'll give him a try.

Should be an awesome run and definitely following.. Good luck bro, what is your goal weight or are you just letting the diet take you to where ever you end up at?

yes.. this will be an amazing log

I read a good article from you 3J on the ology homepage. Was wondering if you had anymore out there. I am a nerd for training, diet and any kind of weightlifting related articles from different perspectives. One day maybe I will be able to afford a personalized diet but not yet lol.

The goal weight right now is 300 lbs. as long as my body can hold it without any adverse side effects. I have asthma, so that is something we always have to watch. 3J preaches to watch my health at all times, he never wants to put anyone in danger. Which is one of the reasons the girl lets me do this. We are also doing blood work to monitor my levels and make sure nothing is out of whack.

So, it's ben awhile since my last post. On October 8th, my son was born, so I have been tending to a newborn and learning this whole parenthood thing! But I'm back on track. I only took 2 days off of my diet, per 3J's instructions. It was while my girl was in labor. After our son was born, I went to the grocery store and brought 10 bags of groceries to the hospital. I somehow managed not to miss any workouts.

So here are some pics and my stats for October 3rd. While I have gained a bit of weight since my last post, we are really slowing it down so my body can adapt to the weight I gained so quickly. Everything is looking good, but my chest is still lagging. So we made some changes to catch it up:
