Hello everyone,

I'm 54 years old and just finished almost 2 years of P90X (might be a record ha!). Currently 5'-9" 178 lbs. Was 241 lbs. Yesterday was my last day of P90X . Based on a few recommendations I'm changing to "body builder" type of workout. Start today! Plus I'm gonna barf if I look at Tony Horton's mug one more time!!

I need to put some muscle on a pretty lean frame. Starting today. Considering testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) as well. Test Level 307.

I've been lurking for a while and really appreciate the wealth of knowledge and experience!

you def need TRT. check out CenturionHRT they are a sponsor here.

good job cutting that weight, time to move up with the big boys and do some compound lifts

Do a well disciplined and thought out cycle with good post cycle therapy (pct), if you don't want to go TRT. It would be great to see how you do. Make sure and do an online log so others can be motivated.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone. Yesterday was the first day with the new workout. A nice, constant pump and a big change from P90X.

I plan to run my new workout for 60 days while leaning out to about 160-165 lbs. I want my BF% as low as possible. At that time I'll be looking for recommendations on tweaking my workout, diet and cardio to reach the next level....for an old guy anyways.

DZ

ps- the only thing I'm keeping from P90X is YogaX....imho an absolute must!

nice work man. thats alot of weight to lose. I tried P90X and although an ass-kicker, i moved to a CrossFit routine instead. I can't imagine 2 years of doing those DVDs.

I would definitely suggest Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) as well. You'll feel 30 again and your workouts will be awesome in comparison.

As for the YogaX, I'm assuming you like it? I really need to bust that video out. I'm not flexible at all.

I don't know how I did two years either. But I'm so busy with my business and my children it was easy to just stick in the DVDs and do the workouts. My weight loss was relatively slow because of alcohol and poor diet. When I dumped the alcohol completely and cleaned up the nutrition real changes happened fast.

I will always do YogaX 3x week. It was such a bitch at the start. I could barely last 15 minutes. imho words can't really explain the benefits. You have to get about 10 complete sessions done and you will know.
