New PR.

Just hit a new PR on dumbell press. 125's for a double, and this is after I'd missed (badly) a new PR on decline - However, I did do 4 sets of 5 at 275 like it was nothing, and then a set of 3 at 315 fairly easily. (yes, PB, I figured out what I was doing wrong on this extreme decline bench).

Sorry, I hate to brag on myself, but I'm proud as hell about this.

thats awesome bro, congrats. are you on anything right now? gear wise?.
i know when i was on dbol i was using the 110's for reps of 8-10.
kinda hurt my shoulder a bit, nothing like outdoing the "big guys".
needless to say im back to working out with 60's and 70's. oh well.

All I'm on is whey protein and a multivitamin.

thats why dbol is garbage. next time do Winstrol (winny) and tren and when you come off you get to keep you gains.

Since this is apparently a week of failed attempts for me, I'll go ahead and add this: Attemped 545 dead today, straps (no belt - grip sucks though), got it somewhere between 6" and a foot off the ground before my back rounded way too bad, so I let it go. Work sets were 4x3 at 405, felt very light, so I decided to shoot for the new PR.

Friday night, I attempted a 425 squat, should've had it, but my mind got the better of me at the bottom of the lift, I believe. Barely started it back up (like 2 inches, lol) before I let it down.

All of my assistance lifts (i.e. dumbell press record mentioned earlier) are going up like crazy, but none of my core lifts are moving, still.

are you doing the core lifts first in you routine? if so another reason core lifts dont move some time is slight overtraining. too many assitance movements. if you want pr for a single max just warm up that day and go for the rep. if you just barely get it go home and get some grub and sleep. i dont like singles over once a month or so.

Core lifts are always first in the workout, but these 1RM attempts are coming at the end of my sets on the core lifts (before assistance movements, but after work sets on core movements). I know that is detrimental to hitting new PR's, but that's the way I've done it since my jr. year of high school, which was the last time I did a true max - just go in, warm up, and max. All of my PR's I've talked about have come like this, so even though they're probably not exact, they are done consistently. As far as assistance movements, I generally do 2 for each workout, (each bodypart), 2, and very very rarely 3, sets of 8-10 reps.

BTW, pullinbig, I KNOW I can pull 550 (strapped). It's quite possible that lifting on absolutely no sleep affected that just a little. :D:D
