Newbie and embarrasing doubt about pinning.

Hello guys.

I cant make up my mind on this, because i have read (and saw) different opinions.

The question is, when you pin, its better to do it straight and fast, in one hit, or is better to do it slowly? Whats better for a newbie?

Depends on the person.

I prefer nice and slow.
Break the skin then slowly push it all the way in.
 
For me it depends on where I am pinning. When I pin pecs and delts, I just go right in quick but when I do quads, I prefer nice and slow. I think I'm that way with quads because my very first pin in quads I hit a nerve so now I always think of that. Mind you, I was totally not in the right area when I hit quads for the first time but for some reason it always sticks in my mind when I pin there. Must be some sort of psychological thing going on....lol. Anyway, that's more info than you asked for.
 
i like to do it slowly.. with some dim lighting and and a little Barry White playing on the HiFi.

No need for apologies, SharpShooter!!! We were all rooks at one time. Nothing worse than standing in the mirror for about 20 mins., beads of sweat balling up on your forehead, stomach in knots, having no idea what to expect........ then finally you HIT IT!! Seriously.... ALL THE HYPE IS FOR NOTHING. You'll be totally relieved and amazed at the fact that you didn't feel a damn thing. It'll make you wanna do it again, right away, just to be sure it was really that easy. You'll be fine, brahim!!!
 
I still get neck pains because I tense my neck so bad doing delts!!! Never felt any pain, just tense up for some reason! Nice & slow all the waaayyy!!!!

Hehehe it is nice to hear that Chip, we are always nervous about the things we dont know.

Also, another thing that makes me not even care if it will be painful or not, is that we go through pain every day in the gym, pushing ourselves besides the limit; how in the world will we be worried about that insignificant discomfort? No way.

I suppose i will go quads for the first, and doing it nice and slow. (Maybe i'll give a try to that MrRage :D)

I personally wouldn't do quads especially for your first pin. It can cause a lot of discomfort for the next few days. Some people it doesn't bother them others cant pin there because the pain is too much. Id try the ass or the shoulder first.
 
I pin slow, just incase out of the slight chance I pin a vein, but I usually look around for veins first since they are so damn blue.
 
per my GF's nursing manual --fast, like a darting motion.

went slow for 4 -5 weeks then started darting and have never looked back.
 
jus penetrate the skin as fast as possible thats where the pains at!!!!!!

or take that part the slowest, even pause a bit and really take in the pain...soak it up... love it! then, with a bit of sadness, push past it and on into the muscle
