Ok, for the guys with huge biceps!!

What the Duece.... ?!?!
For the life of me, I cannot get my damn biceps to grow. I can do incline bench and my tries swell instantly, but I can do a full workout for my bi's and nothing other then a little sore in the morning. What the hell!!!

I want to hear some stories of what some of you have done to overcome lagging Bi's.
For whatever reason, genetics in my arms suck. My dad and my Uncle are both stocky as hell and my dad has forearms bigger than some guys legs. So This is irritating to me.

Go heavy for fewer reps, Go more reps, supersets, What lifts are bette4r than others ect....What have you done to help that you saw improvements?

And yes Jamy, I always EAT to GROW lol..... During summer its alot harder given nature of my work though.

my arms are 18" does this count.
i had a hard time a while back but i started a 5x5 routin and then at the end of the work out i would hit the bi's again. so if i done bi's and shoulders that day, bi's would come first and the shoulders then just before i was finished i would throw in one more set of Bi's and then eat and drink a shake right after.
 
yes my man your 18" guns count, lol. Id be happy with 18" arms to be honost.

But training bi's first is a great idea. I never really thought of doing it that way, because my arms do get somewhat of a workout on my back day, but I ALWAYS end up doing back first. I am temted to add one more day to my training week just to do Bi's/ Tri's on their own.

As far as shake goes, I ALWAYS immediately Eat a tablespoon or two of Natural Peanut butter and a squirt of honey, plus 2 scoops muscle milk to tide me over till dinner.
 
you need to have a good split workout plan. i work out from the top down. shoulders bi's
on mon
tri's come into play with the chest and tuesday
back and abs wed.
legs and abs thurs.
forearms get worked out plenty with all the compound moves.
i'll do this for a month and the go from the bottom up.
i has worked well for me.
 
I will put it like this, I have a small frame. I take after my mom. DAMMIT!!!! Im not saying Im all buff and well built, but when I first started lifting weights, I was 120 lbs. 9 years later and I am now 183 pretty solid. I competed at 132lbs 3% BF naturally.

i've alwayted to know if snthol would blow up the unit???

you look real cut and in damn good shape. you try doing bi's athe the end and stay intense on they they will grow.

Any particular movements you prefer over others? ? Heavy sets low reps/ visa versa.


The other question I have, is since the bicep is a relatively smaller muscle, How many movements and sets is considered to be crossing that line into counter productive territory? Maybe all these years ive been over training them trying so hard to make them grow and in actuality just slowing the whole process.....? input? Hate to sound clueless, but I swear I tried alot of different ways, and nothing seems to work.
 
always affraid to tear bicep by going that heavy that few of reps. I know when I do sets of 8 with preacher curls, (2 close grip 2 wide grip) My arms are burning in the morning and most of the time not that good burn, so I latley have been going sets of 10 little lighter weight.

Dread he has 18" arms others have 17".. ect. Point is, some of us, me for example will NEVER obtain what some people have naturally no matter how hard we train or how perfect our diet is or how much gear we take. Kudos you have bigger arms. But I can still only obtain what nature intended for me (which will never be arms bigger than 18"). Until they perfect Gene Doping that is, lol. But

Dont mean that to sound Derogatory or like I was "yelling" or anything........
