Old School T-bar Rows

Do you perform this exercise? I'm talking about where you load up one end of a barbell and have someone stand on the other end to keep it in place. I'm not talking about the exotic, pussified T-bar row machines.

I just started incorporating this exercise into my routine once again. I love it. Loading the 45 lb plates up and just goin at it. Great mass builder.

I have done it, but my gym has an old fashioned tbar....not a machine per se, but a t-bar...as the name implies. I use it. We have both the standing and the chest supported.

I like the new school t-bar "platforms". Makes it really easy to set up and gives you some different grip options. But yes I have done them the other way many times.

Yupp. One of my favourite back excercises. I'd rather do regular BB rows though, but these definetely have their place in my training routine.

One of the Jay Cutler favorites. Results show off in middle back 2006:)

My gym doesn't have an old-school t-bar, only the chest-supported, which feels a little awkward to me. I do it only as an alternative to BB rows.

every gym has an "old-school" T-bar

straddle oly bar
place 45's on one end
use V-grip or over under grip
proceed to raise loaded end up while keeping unloaded end down. (pivot mechinism)

there ya go...old school style.

Oh, I thought it was a bar just like the one on the chest-supported exercise. I logged onto youtube to look at some examples, but it seems that it's hard to keep correct form.

i like the cable machine for this muscle hitter...but my cable row is flawless

start light.
i lock my low half in posn pretty much.
slight knee bend
tilt at waist
keep back as flat as possible in this posn.
make the low back and scapula and arms do all the work.
i may use a little "jerk" motion towards the end, but it really pounds the lats and middle back something fierce.
plus the rear delts, bi's and tri's work hard too.
i find it too be a great back and upper body work out.
hits a lot of muscles.
