On the Road to Nationals

So I did my first powerlifting meet about a week ago (Early April). It was a push/pull and I ended up hitting 440 bench in my single ply shirt and 570 deadlift RAW. I have caught the competition bug again and I want to see what I can do in a full meet.

Nationals should be a good time see where I am. At this point, it will give me enough time to train and it will be something exciting to do and learn from. I don't know for sure that I am going to do it (I have yet to commit) but it will be something that I can look forward to and have a goal for.

Goals for this meet (if it happens of course):
Squat: low 600's
Bench: 500
Deadlift: low 600's

Saturday 4/9: Squats
RAW up to 405/1
BRIEFS 455/1 (high)
495/1 (high)
545/1 (good depth)

Hit some light accessory work and called it a day. I am still feeling a little bit from the meet.

serious numbers, mm

btw, do you mind video taping your meet? if you don't mind of course :)

also, how do you squat/dead? sumo or narrow?

Sorry I haven't posted any progress lately. My training after the meet was going very well and then I had a bit of a set back. I re-aggrivated something in my lower back that hadn't been bothering me for quite some time. I think I will be doing a couple bodybuilding type workouts to see if no direct strain will help it clear up quick.

Top numbers from my pull/push training:
DL off 6" block 455x5, 475x5
Bench Press 320/4.5 (needed a little help on the lock out), 350/4 off 4b
*Was very happy with the bench number since I have not benched raw with anything over 275 in quite some time

Man - that is f'n awesome - I'm really happy for you! You must feel like a total beast meister! - hahahahaha good luck with your training - it's fukkin impressive as hell!

Yeah - vids or pics would be nice! Did your gf go with you? she must have been freaked to see you lift that! ;-)

one question - when you saw "raw" for deads - does that mean no gloves or straps too?

Sorry for not posting for so long.

Yes, she loved the lifting. I think she loved it.

RAW means no supportive equipment at all. No deadlifting suit, no straps, no gloves. Just me and the bar.
