Opinions and experience? I'm stuck

You need to count calories bro. I know that i cut at 2800 calories when i was 165lbs. Set out your meals, work with 3j and eat. Even if your forcing yourself just get the calories in. Dont expect to get anywhere through estimation.
Have you had the full thyroid panel done with antibodies? this includes rt3.

Do you have results for DHT, DHEA, and pregnenlone? If you clutching at straws maybe you should look down that path or backfilling. Multiple cortisol tests will be more reliable over the period of the day also.

Have you had food allergy tests done? Something may have come up recently also. I know of many people who have suddenly become allergic to a food and not realised with the only symptoms fatigue and intestinal issues.

I'm really trying to explain this in a way that makes logical sense..Think of me as like a three year science experiment, and the variable is my weight. The constant is my nutrient intake and workout schedule (so calories in and calories out). Over the entire three years I've been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), I have kept my caloric intake very consistent. Why would I be able to maintain a higher muscle mass and weight on less calories than I can a lower one now? Malabsorption of some sort, that or the HIV test will come back positive. DHT, DHEA, and pregnenlone probably don't have that strong of an anabolic effect, so I'm not going to start looking there yet. Obviously I have everything I need to grow hormone wise (thyroid is in check, T levels high, etc.) but for some reason my bodies not getting the material it needs, and its not because I'm not eating it..I am. It all adds up considering I've been having extreme intestinal discomfort, gas, and irregular bowel habits. Sometimes the shits greasy too which can be indicative of malabsorption. One thing I don't want to do is go chasing every single insignificant possibility, rack up a bunch of bills, and still know nothing. I want to base this search off my symptoms and what I know.

Your metabolism can change at anytime. 2 years ago I would gain weight no problem at around 2800 calories now it takes anywhere from 3500-4000 for me to gain anything. The human body is a very strange thing.

This is not my body's cute little way of saying "eat more dumb ass." This is straight up muscle and fat wasting despite a sufficient caloric intake.

Your going to have to "rack up a few bills" if you want to find something.
How was all of your vitamin levels?
You may have intestinal inflammation such as crohns or coeliacs?

And how do gels stop absorbing? Does your body just not use it or did you test levels progressively get worse? I wonder if you switched back how you would feel.

Hows your anxiety? Weve heard it before bro but overstressing over things will not help.

Good luck with the HIV test but im sure they test for that when you donate as well as other major diseases.

So you really have a couple of options to work with at this point
1. Lift your calories up and see how your body responds (regardless of what it has done in the past)

2. Get a colonoscopy and check out your intestines

Good luck bro

Hey thanks man for all the advice. Its nice to have someone thoroughly go through all of this with me as there is much I will inevitably miss.
As far as vitamin levels the only thing tested was Iron, and it came back really good..but I know there still could be deficiencies in other vitamins. Crohns or coeliac may very well be a possibility, one that a stool sample would shine more light upon.

I typed a thread up on gels and the trend that exists in most who use them. To be honest, I know that's not the route to go again. Too many variables and the question in the back of my mind of if I'm absorbing it or not.

I'm not anxious, more so just growing weary of living like this and not being able to feel healthy anymore. Its honestly like I'm in a hypogonadal state despite my test levels being high. Do you think I could have a GH deficiency? That would explain the fatigue and extreme muscle loss.

You're right on the HIV thing and the blood donations, so its probably not that..same with other STDs and diseases as you mentioned.

I'll start upping the calories again and see where it puts me, and look into that colonoscopy. Do you think a stool sample would be valuable as well?

Thanks

Id check b12 also.

The orange stool colour can be caused by sweet potato or vitamin a. Other foods can cause this colouring too.

Have you had gallstones? Bile not getting into your intestine to process the fat?
These are all theories at this point. Trying to toss some things your way to think about.

I thought you previously said you were going to do a stool sample to rule out parasites. Change your mind?

Cortisol was taken around 4:00 PM, was 7.9..so normal? Negative for HIV as well. I'm still experiencing significant abdominal discomfort and gas

You think you could be eating something your allergic to? Im allergic peanut butter and before i found that out i was eating alot of peanut butter/products with peanuts in it and was haveing constant stomach issues and did not know why.

It may be allergies, but regardless it comes down to I'm only getting maybe about half of what I actually put in I believe. I don't think it has anything to do with my hormones and here's why. My sex drive and erections are great, I grow a full beard in a week or so and I don't feel hormonally inadequate. I do, however, feel much GI discomfort and experience God-awful smelling BMs along with a lot of gas. I sound like a broken record, but I need to stay focused on where to look with this. I'm going to go in and check for any signs of malabsorption, and maybe ask about allergy testing.
