pec tear --- what now?

I always use dumbbells - getting up to an easy 120lbs each arm for 8-10.

I tried to be a hero and went on the smith machine for the first time in 10 years. 1 plate, then 2 plates, then I tried 3 plates. On the first rep going down, I heard a super massive snap sound and my chest looked like something from the alien movie.

My MRI is next week, though I'm wondering what I should do....

a) should I stop the gear and do my PCT?
b) continue but low dosage of test

I thought having some gear would aid in recovery and might add value.

Does my pec tear look serious? it's not so painful when I'm not moving but kinda pinches if I move my arm around. The blood is kinda isolated to my arm pit corner of the chest as you see in the pic. The rest of my chest looks normal but holding a lot of water.

Do you think I'll be back soon or do I need surgery? The only pec tears I've seen are on google images and those guys have their entire chest turn black for which mine is not like theirs.

I'm on 1000mg naproxen and 120mg Arcoxia per day for inflammation. Now I can't eat shit as it killed my appetite.

What should I do...? It's been 1 week now and seems to be getting more and more ROM. But still can't wipe my arse or brush my teeth with my right arm.

ouch man. I would prob start post cycle therapy (pct) soon. Not being able to eat and not workout makes being on gear pointless. Crazy that happened with only 3 plates.

Ok, saw your pics you posted of yourself. TBH, your base to start gear was not that great. IMO, you started too soon, should of built a better natural base before getting on gear. Your muscles prob weren't ready for that increase in strength. I do hope you get better though man. Could of happened to anyone, even someone who could press 500lbs. Next time don't try and lift more than you KNOW you can. Now get to the doctor.

I would go see a doc asap. That looks pretty bad IMO. Plus, if you can't perform simple daily activities, it is serious IMO.

Bow out...heal CORRECTLY , or risk reinjury and more time out.

I ve been hospitalized 3 times for various job injuries resulting in 20-36 pound s ( I was a real man then at 210 )weight loss...you WILL come back.

Do not fuck this up.

AAS do not heal injuries. Periods.

Wonder if the OP is a tall guy or not. As a tall guy, I always have trouble with the barbell press. I can't do more than 225-235 comfortably. However, dumbbells get to 120-130 with np. I am starting to believe that long arms and physics play a role, which is maybe why the OP injured it so badly.

yep 6'4". I don't want to make excuses for myself, but I know I gained a massive amount of strength without any tendon strength. Could be also the extra ROM of having super duper long arms.

Did my surgery on March 7. $8400USD for all costs incurred.

Been 11 days now post-OP and the doctor said he is amazed with my recovery progress. I can move my arm, chest and everything as if it wasn't even torn to start with.

My injury was specifically at the tendon-muscle junction and basically the muscle ripped off the tendon (not the tendon off the bone).

I've been taking 12iu/EOD of HGH since the start of the year for which I think has helped dramatically. The doctor said my recovery speed is roughly that of someone who is several months post-OP. Also I've been on low dosage of test-E because I needed to keep protein synthesis. Not losing too much weight or size even though its been 5 weeks since the injury.

However, I've noticed my pec is rock hard and larger. The doctor reckons its either haemetoma or scarring. He even commented that it looks like the pec has hypertrophied rather than atrophied in which other people would have already loss mass.

dang bra, just saw pic. ouch

hope you heal up quick. the hgh and a low dose of test will help. 12ius must be costing an arm and a leg. how long you running the hgh for?

continue to run the test with the hgh

Thats Good, if i were you before you start lifting again, i would go to rehabilitation and complete your recovery as all pro athletes do.
Believe me you can take a lot of benefit from light exercises like swimming ect in this time period. Yes they are not muscle builders but they will help your chest to regain its flexibility and tendon strength.
My Personal advices,
Never use Smith Machine again for any exercise. I know 3 guys in person who tore up muscle with that fucking machine.
Never Use high power steroids for long time like Anadrol , Tren ect. Primo , Deca , Equipoise will be much better because you will have slow and steady gains.

I'll be taking HGH for 1 year.

It's cheap where I live in Hong Kong. I'm getting the non-labelled blue tops.... a meal costs more than my day's dosage.

Feels like I'm wasting my gear because I'm not training, but hopefully I get back into the gym and recover soon.

Definitely I don't have flexibility in my chest muscle, meaning it doesn't stretch as far as my other arm when I try to do a side raise movement.

damn man,i would start post cycle therapy (pct) to and soon,im like you i only use DB's cause im really tall to and a long arm spand, smart move to use DB's using BB is what cause me to have labrum ligament sugery last year,so having ling arms sucks in a way, including benching, and i agree with Tuetonic let it heal naturally and follow doctors orders

oh ok. ya keep running a low dose of test with it. do proper rehab and PT

if anything you can swim and start doing some legs in a month or so

Good advice. Take your time and let your body heal. A friend of mine with similar injury rushed back too soon, reinjured it and ended up with twice the rehab time second time around . This was a couple of years ago, but he has yet to be the same .

dam. i dont wish that on anybody.
Iv always been honest with my doctors about gear..
Surprised your doctor didnt come out an say he knows what your doing.
Goodluck
