Your Training History

What is your training history? How old were you when you started? How long have you been training? Have you always trained, resumed training after a layoff, or started training later in life? Were you an athlete in school? What got you started in training?

I'm a recovering fatass. At age 40 I was 5'10" and 230 lbs of blubber, on the fast track to an early heart attack. I decided that I didn't want to die young and ugly, so I joined my gym as a new-year's resolution in Jan. 1997. Guess I'm one of the minority of new-years resolution newbies who stuck with it.

I've made a lot of changes, gained a bit of mass and strength, but still have a long way to go before I'm even remotely satisfied.

Worst thread, ever.

I was 13. Started lifting for football. It was always a powerlifting type of workout. After school, I kept powerlifting. Now I'm 20 and I'm going to begin competing.

I voted fatass. I was a fatass as a freshman in HS, but I was an athlete (football at the time) so I always have trained in a powerlifting/bbing style. I am a mulatto mix of all 3.

ok here goes a condensed form of a long story , grew up doing heavy farm/labor thats where my brute strength came from, i was 200 in the 7th or 8th grade and havent been below 200 since . lifted a little weights in school and the military but i was mostly interested in sports even competed in the usta up until my early/mid thirties including state championships and playing in the finals in the southern championships and that was at about 300 pounds :D i can move for a big man if i do say so myself , started dabbling with the weights again almost 10 years ago when my son started training with the local powerlifting crew i joined in and its been my passion everysince . unfortunately due to back surgery my powerlifting career is over but i still do what i can and train as heavy as possible . im now approaching my mid forties and i dont anticipate stopping any time soon :)

Holy crap! That must've been a sight!
me hit ball , ball go fast ugh:D , actually i won most of my matches by having young lean dudes try to run me into the ground after a few hours when they couldnt stand up and i was still going stron they saw the error of their ways . but i could strong arm if i had to:D

I was a chunky money for a good portion of my childhood. When i was 13, I got sick of it, and dieted and cardio'd the hell out of myself.

I didnt like looking like a baloon on a string, so I started hitting the weights. I "lifted" from the age of like 15-17, but i had no concept of how diet, rest, and training were supposed to work together to build your body the way you wanted to.

From the age of 17 to now, I gave up chasing the dream of trying to build muscle and be ripped at the exact same time, and I educated myself on excersizes and deit and supps (I also got a job at GNC which helped me afford to buy supps), and been lifting for size ever since.

Fullback thought it was gonna be my career but it didnt work out.started training at 14.im one of the youngest guys to have used Ciba D-bol.trained for 14 years.im 28 now.pl for the first 10 bb the last 4.

I voted for discoboy but I'm more of a recovering stick-boy. I sit drug and exercise free at around 180 from my previous skinnyfat 155. Proof that a little training and a little juice will put permanent size on a person. And I still look good naked.

I'll be back at the gym in January for my normal spring/summer look-good-with-my-shirt-off routine.
