Pro bodybuilders advice given to me.

never got my plates checked, but I have switched doctors about a year ago and both of them have said they are pretty confident I'm done growing taller. The second doctor who told me said that he's never seen a kid stall at a certain height as long as I've been 5'6 and continue to grow afterwards. I kind of like being shorter anywho :)

Yeah, I wouldn't be so sure about that.. Adam Rainer, born in 1899 in Graz, Australia, measured 3 feet 10.45 inches at the age of 21. But then he suddenly started growing upwards at a rapid rate, and by 1931 he had reached 7 feet 2/4 inches.....

Don't be so quick to count yourself out... Slmetimes you just never know, not saying this is pratical BUT it happened, give yourself the opportunity you test your true limits.

yea kids like you are the ones who gets shit storms started on these forums, because its in your nature, you think you know all and everyone else is a bunch of backward-ass country fucks who dont know shit about nothing, and usually kids like you turn out to be the fucking thugs and idiots in this world, not bashing you young man, just telling the truth, kids your age think adults and people with years of experience dont know how to cut a light switch off, yall know all,and consider your peers as dumb-asses,its all simple, now days the world is so screwed up with fuckups like you,you WILL one day realize that yall arent as smart as you think you are, just wait until life kicks you in the ass, then you will understand:smashcomp

hahaha woah. I guess I have to spend more of my down time in this community to understand you guys like you do eachother. LOL

Stick around kiddo, stick around... The wealth of knowledge to be obtained here is amazing, the brain cells we loose on the daily? Also amazing.... We're a pack of intelectual wild boys! haha

DET, because the plate have not fully fuse does not mean the bones are still elongating. 90% of bone growth ends at age 17 for males. The remaining 10 may or may not even happen and will occur before age 21. Do think I didn't read the article I posted? I know the info in my sleep... I don't need to read 100 times.

This article was illustrating a bigger picture about the physiology of bone development. the fact that you skimmed over information to look for a shred of evidence to back your POV speaks volumes.

I am prolly older than you, bro. No need to try and call me out. I prolly am smarter than most forum members about some stuff. Just as you are.

If you can, design a rolling offset 4" sch 90 pipe at 56 degree angle with a 4'2" 1/16 set and a 5'5"7/16 run on side B of the 2nd dimension and explaining the fittings used and the weld gap and the 3rd dimensional length of travel... I'd be interested.

You prolly can't... I can, easily. Just like there is stuff you know which maybe I have no clue. No need to get panties in a wad.

Listen buddy, I don't have to do, I tell people what to do, its always been that way for me.

You keep veering off track, posting information that is irrelevant to our argument. You keep posting information relating to how the bones grow and develop, yet nothing on the time frame for when the stop.

You have insulted my intelligence on numerous occasions in this thread, you brought this on your self, so don't go back pedaling now telling me not to get my panties in a wad.

I posted that the OP should go to the doc to make sure his plates are closed before he cycles, so he would have no regrets later down the road. to make sure, so there is no question. already myself and zeek both told you that we grew 2 inches in our mid twenties, I have also heard numerous other members on the site with the same experience. BTW most people stop when they are 21, just so you know.

You then make this post:

how old is the op? bro, you not going to grow at epiphyseal plates after age 19-20. If you have a genetic disorder possible, but highly unlikely. And a MD wouldn't be able to determine that. You plates will not "fuse" until 21-24 years old... doesn't mean you are still growing. The process of osteoclast and osteoblasts recomposing and decomposing calcium at higher rates is likely the causation for the halting of the bone deposits fusing. The hormones in your body are signalling for more calcium for muscle, cardiac and... well... many uses for the human body at a young age.

In this post you have clearly implied or stated 3 things:

1. The growth of bones is done by age 19.

2. That a doctor can not tell you that you are done growing.

3. Insulted my intelligence.

Now you want cite referrences on the mechanics of bone growth, thinking it somehow proves your point, which it does not.

What happened to your Empirical data
showing when adolescents stop growing?

foot-in-mouth.jpg

Now your posting more information that your professor in MED school is cramming down your throat, information that has more to do with osteoporosis than anything, information i just don't care to absorb.

You have now backed yourself into a corner, because you have no argument, you can not tell this young man he is done growing, as a matter of fact, it shows YOUR age since you are so worried about this subject. I bet your 22? older than me, not by 10 years buddy.

now you want to dismiss me and say learn how to build a bobsled and then i will talk to you, so yo can buy more time to support your argument.

Try all you want, I have scoured the net, scholarly articles and all, and no one can tell you when the plates are closed and growth has halted, cause its different for everyone.

What do we know? High amounts of estrogen in the blood cause closure of the plates, and when that happens, it is 100% that you have stopped growing...........................

so what is your point again? in your own words?

something like: the transport of minerals and vitamins to the bones are responsible for elongation of the bone, and that doesn't happen after age 17?

OK fine, now prove it, don't prove what causes them to grow, prove when they stop please.........................

no. Im not reading that, post some valid information in your own words that supports your theory that it is impossible for an adolescent to grow taller after the age of 19, and then cite referrences, i dont have time for your bullshit, I have seen this argument a million times and trust me, in the end, the only way to know if your done growing is if your plates are closed, period.

Read this... :Poke:

dude that article is old, and is about the effects of diet and physical activity on bone growth. It does not have much to do with when people stop growing.

BTW the article is wrong, harvard just release a 7 year study last year showing how that experiment is flawed, and that physical activity has nothing to with making you short. the docs then go on to suggest that kids start working out when they are 7.....................soooooooooooo........................next

here let me bring you up to speed.

Consequently, many experts say, by strength training, young athletes can reduce their risk of injury, not the reverse. The scientific literature is quite clear that strength training is safe for young people, if its properly supervised, Dr. Faigenbaum says. It will not stunt growth or lead to growth-plate injuries. That doesnt mean young people should be allowed to go down into the basement and lift Dads weights by themselves. Thats when you see accidents. The most common, he added, involve injuries to the hands and feet. Unsupervised kids drop weights on their toes or pinch their fingers in the machines, he said.

I can promise you that you will not get banned or have any problems with a MOD over your discussion with me, at all. I can stick up for myself, I will stick up for you, I am all about speaking my mind and am certainly willing to admit when im wrong, but you haven't shown that yet.

Now you have posted information from 2000, over a decade ago, about how sports and physical activity cause early onset closure. I have posted a review of a large scale study, showing that for 60 years we were wrong about that, and now you want to stop?

You are not hurting my feelings Matt, as RJ would say, this is the internet, if you get your feelings hurt here your a pussy.

Don't take my strong stance as attacking you, cause im not, afterall you are the one who insulted my intelligence.

1. 90% of bone growth ends by age 17 for males. FACT

2. A MD can't tell you if you are going to grow by looking at an x-ray. FACT.

3. Your belligerence is insulting to your intelligence. OPINION

Sorry you so mad, buddy. Just avoid me and I will do the same. Thats really stupid though...

Just prove it, thats all im saying, looks to me like that is your opinion.

always the same shit with the same idiots.

Yea and now im gonna drop the hammer.

As kids grow, growth plates change in appearance on the X-ray images and become thinner, eventually disappearing (this is what is called "closed growth plates").

X-Ray Exam: Bone Age Study

I guess you can't tell from X rays..... :bj:

This brings me to my next belligerent theory.

If estrogen does not close the plates and stop bone lengthening, why would giving them AI's make them taller?

Det oak and Matt does this mean you guys aren't going to get the divorce after all??

.........you just saved me from some confused teenage years lol

Uh oh, someone is mad cause they are wrong.

so your whole point this whole time was that hormones played a role in the growth of bone? hahahahahahaha no shit.

this is my point, as you can see in your signature, you are bringing up information that says nothing about when a male stops growing. nothing at all. that is the argument, the argument has nothing to do with what causes or influences bone growth.

Now your nitpicking on wether a Dr can tell if your plates are closed or not, when it is common practice to make those guesses.

Hence the name calling, you have not added anything to this thread whatsoever, non of the information you posted is relevant to the issue of men using androgens under the age of 25. Your weak.

So you guys are getting the divorce.... :(

Well looks like I'll be crying to my girlfriends if I have any becaus because of you guys!

This got too serious too quick, the height thing originally was just a SMALL part to the original discussion this got blown up so quick!
