Rack pulls on the Smith?

So I just got back from the gym. I was really looking forward to doing some rack pulls in the rack today but this old man was doing forearm work and around 8 sets in the rack and I couldn't wait any longer. It was starting to really frustrate me. I want to put a sign on the rack this equipment is for Squats and Deads. I couldn't wait any longer so i tried them in the smith. Im not a fan of machines but I will say they didn't feel to bad. Kinda help isolate my lats a little better. Unfortunately I didn't get that crazy stretch and burning feeling in the traps like with the free bar, but I made up with some behind the back shrugs supersetting to slow front shrugs. That crushed me, strongly recommend it.

You guys ever tried pulls in on the smith?

Yes, and simply put, I love them.
 
The Smith is bad mmkayyy!

For some reason i cant get a good groove on anything on the smythe.

Well I usually dont like the smythe much myself either but it wasn't to bad. I would had prefered doing them in the rack if the old man would not had hogged it with his BB forearm work. I did notice less stress on my lower back in the smythe but not the over all body dense feeling. Who knows maybe I will wake up and feel a nice pump in my lats.

Yeah i love it when people use the rack for bicep curls etc... Sometimes i will go up and tell em to fuck off:)
 
I like the Smith Machine for 3 exercises only... Incline Bench Press, Shoulder Press, and now Rack Pulls. I feel like I can really isolate my Chest/Shoulders with those pressing movements and I really liked the way the Rack Pulls scorched my Lats. Generally, I try and stay away from them though.

I wanted to do Sumo Squats today for Hammy's... both Squat racks were being used, one guy was doing 75lb bicep curls and the other guy was doing 65lb upright rows... I laughed.
