rbc and hematocrit still high : Doctors explanation?

I was on 250mg test x1 week for a long time (And 5000iu hcg x1 week).

Now I'm on 65mg test x2 week and hcg 500iu x2 week (And Adex)

I'm going into surgery next month so I had all sorts of blood work done. I looked at my RBC (550 and under being normal, I'm 570) and my hematocrit was 17.3 (Under 18 is normal).

My test levels were over 1000 for a long time (400-800 being normal range) and now they are hovering around 600. So my test levels have normalized and I expected there to be a drop in RBC and HCT. But apparently not.

I asked the doctor and he said "You train 5 days a week and work 7 days a week. Your levels are going to be elevated, mine are about the same. If you start reaching 700 you're in some trouble. Most athletes will be about this high and there's no risk here. If you worked a desk job and got in no exercises, I'd say we need to look into it more. If you stop going to the gym, you'll see these levels drop."

Since I'm going in for surgery next month, I'm not donating blood. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I honestly thought a drop in T shots and T levels would balance things out. Apparently not.

MY RBC was high prior to starting trt ... donated blood about 4 weeks in and then had labs done after the blood donation and I was back down in the normal range for both RBC and HCT.

had more labs done 5 weeks later and RBC and HCT had both creeped back up in the high range ....

total test prior to trt was under 300 (348-1197) and since starting trt has been in the mid-high 700's.

Looks like I am destined to be a blood donor every 8 weeks no matter what my test is doing.
