well here it is, got bloods done and these are the results. Some history first:

23, male, 5'7, 160lbs, 12-14% bf, never done a cycle, training since age 16.

free test - 9.7 pg/ml 9.3-26.5 scale
total test - 420 ng/dl 249-836 scale
prolactin - 6.0 ng/ml 4.0-15.2 scale
LH - 5.1 miU/ml 1.7-8.6 scale
FSH - 5.7 miU/ml 1.5-12.4 scale
TSH - 2.090 uIU/ml .465-4.680 scale

* total test 1 month ago was 355, so i'm pretty sure i fluctuate from around 350-400 most of the time. I also had normal bloodwork and that all came back "normal" as well.

So what do you think? Seems like my free test and total test are kind of dog shit for my age? Any ideas? Here are some recent pics, i do try to work my ass off to make up for not so great test.

You got some tools to play with, kid. Good chest, broad shoulders, full back. I'd agree that your test is in the shitter, as i don't like to see anyone, let alone a young bro like yourself, in the 400's.you say you've never cycled, but have you played with any test boosters or pro-hormones? If so, and not coming off correctly, could be a key factor of why you are low. I feel that our doc's would handle your case very carefully and not put you on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) right away, rather, attempt to "restart" you with Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and an Aromatase inhibitor (AI). Some guys have good success with an extremely minimalistic protocol to start with. Especially at your age.

re

actually I did run 1-ad androstenedione back in like 06, it had just been banned but store owner had stockpiled it and was still legally selling it. Never ran any pct, i mean, it was like taking creatine back then, just another supplement. Didnt know the shit we know about it now. But anyways, yes, years after the fact i heard that prohormones are god awful and require a post cycle therapy (pct). However, i figured this being about 5 years ago, I would recover just fine.

Also, im just curious, but could a restart with say hcg/clomid/nolva and an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) really work to get me back up to normal levels and keep me there? Or will i just fall back down again once i cease the restart protocall? Thanks for the info Mr. Wadowski!

Your
FSH - 5.7 miU/ml 1.5-12.4 scale
TSH - 2.090 uIU/ml .465-4.680 scale

Look good, good function

I'd try a restart like Chip says, you'll be up and running naturally in no time.

re

Realistically with all the info provided, what kind of results do you think I could get doing a restart with hcg/clomid/nolva/ai? Would test levels stay elevated, or would i just go through withdrawal again once i end the restart? Just curious about this option and the reasoning behind it.

It might very well result in full resoration of function, permanently (assuming you dot abuse / use any more PHs or test boosters) or it might not. Worth a try for sure at your age and healthy pituitary signals.

re

Yea i definitely agree its worth a shot. What really concerns me though is the free test level. I mean its dangerously close to being flagged as unacceptable even by the lab results. I mean, that can't be good, right? while adding on to the fact that my test has come as low as 350 total?

Many of the natty products on the market to free up more free test work pretty good. I'm on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but use a product called "unleashed" at 4-5 caps Ed to keep my free test levels and SHBG in check, my lastest lab says that it works. Might talk to chip (if you use him) about the use of something like this along with the hcg/AI to help free up more free test.

You didn't test e2. My guess is you have high estrogen. High Estrogen causes SHBG to go up, SHBG goes up and Free Testosterone drops.

Balancing your body back out with a restart might fix this.

re

ive read about running like a clomid 50/50/50/50 nolva 40/40/20/20 and Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) restart....I'd prefer to give this a shot with chip, however i'd like to get more info on it and find out if insurance can cover anything

Chip does not take insurance. I'd try it with him anyway it might cost more then with good insurance (I doubt you'd find a local dr willing or able to try a restart), him and his dr know testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and the whole hormone system plus if it didnt work and you qualify you'd be setup with a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) Dr already

Are you overtraining? Maybe take a week or two off and make sure you are eating enough meat and whatnot and retest. If not, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) may be needed.

Might get LH tested next time as well as FSH

LH is sometimes measured in relation to gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) to distinguish between primary or secondary disorders involving the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, or the gonads. GnRH is the hormone produced by the hypothalamus that stimulates the pituitary to release LH and FSH. For this test, a baseline blood sample is drawn and then the patient is given an injection of GnRH. Subsequent blood samples are drawn at specified times and the level of LH is measured. This test can help differentiate between disease of the ovaries or testes (primary) and a disorder of the pituitary or hypothalamus (secondary). It is also often helpful in the evaluation of precocious or delayed puberty.

Huh missed that. Good call.

LH and FSH

They both look good (not too high or low), which is a great sign that both the testicles and pituitary are working. Which is good news as far as odds of a restart getting things running good again.

Over training, lack of deep rem sleep (not enough sleep or even a sleep disorder causing you to not hit rem long enough), diet and stress are all factors (or any combo of) that might also explain help your low total test levels. Low free test might be caused by both the Lower total test to draw on and a higher ratio of shgb/e2 to test then you should have.
