Seems like having a big ribcage is genetic
blessing if its built on properly.
A lot of guys with smaller ribcages seem to go straight from abs up to a thick chest, thick upper back, and round delts. The guy with the bigger ribcage will have lats that can reach the waistline with a chest to rest on top. Arnold is a great example. side chest
What do you think?

Most of the ribcage 'expanding' theories and movements do seem to be old school, some simply believe that it cannot be improved past the age of 18ish. Arnold swears up and down it can be improved, but this could simply be larger lats.

Do you agree that having a bigger ribcage
is an advantage?

I have a wide ribcage and sternum for a woman. I like it because it makes my waist look smaller, but it makes buying clothes a bit harder.

My wife has a wide ribcage and constantly talks about how she hates her lower rips 'sticking out,' she is 5'8" and still feel it makes her look wide.

For a guy, it can either make his arms look small if the person is not well developed, and possibly give away that he has a small frame. Sometimes guys with small necks or ribs and large muscles look a little off, but most of us aren't going to have small ribcages and be complaining about having 22.5" arms to go with it.

well said, i used to be the undeveloped
guy you mentioned 10 years ago.
I was a torso basically. Arms and legs
took years to gain real inches.

i pop my sternum frequently and think that it def helps with chest size appearance. This is a true method. I have also used dumbell pull-overs to do this. This exercise is specifically known for its sternum-expanding abilities. THis is a real thing my friends
