OK, so since I've never seen one of these before, I'll see if I can't keep up with it.

I'm working with a new nutritionist and starting today will be embarking on quite a different, and advanced meal plan that I have never tried before.

Now, because of the nature of this diet, I will not be going into any detail about the actual diet itself, just the mental aspects of issues I may have (fatigue, energy, psychosis, etc. lol).

Basically what I am attempting to do is like most of us, maintain quality LBM while dropping fat. But, due to carryiong around 250lbs on a 5'9" frame for the past 4 years, its taken quite a toll on my joints (knees, ankles, etc). I just recently had a son, and I don't wanna be that 45yr old dad hobbling around the field rooting on my son at his football games. So, I'm trying to transform by body, while not losing too much LBM (if i lose some thats ok), and also increasing my cardiovascular endurance.

My competing days are over, so this is a li different than just for aesthetic reasons. Of course, if i end up 220 and ripped, I'm good with that also. lol

So, I'm starting with a 12 day carb-depletion effective today. This will be the only detail about the diet just to give everyone an idea of what kind of start I am making. I have never gone even one day without carbs, so this should be a treat. Workouts will stay the same.

Not a bad first day. Got a headache starting around 6pm and had a lil of it this morning when i got up. I did feel extremely dehydrated all day, and I think i got in 1.5gals, maybe more. Anyone have issues with that?

Had enough energy to do a light leg workout (i missed the last two weeks of legs), so we'll see what happens with Chest/Delts tomorrow. Taking the wife to see Clapton tonight. :D
 
Still feeling dehydrated after almost 2 gallons today. Piss is clear so thats all good. Not sure what it is.

Was a little light headed last night cheering at the concert, and I was up later than normal so I had to adjust my eating. But all meals in.

Still had a touch of the headache last night/evening, but I'm still getting rid of this head cold, so that may be it as well.

Overall, the fats i am taking in are at least keeping me in a positive energy balance. Of course this is only day 3. lol
 
Headache is gone. But i can feel a definite drain at about 2/3 of the way through my workouts now. The dehydration isn't nearly as bad, but its still there a bit.

As for cravings, I was completely fine until some motherfucker heated up some Tater-Tots at my office. DAMMIT!! lol

Day 5 today.

Well, made it thru the 12 day depletion OK. No big problems. Lost 7-8lbs. Sitting around 239lbs right now and feeling good. Like Blondie said, i was fine after the first 5-6 days. But by the middle of the second week, i was starting to lose gas about 2/3 of the way thru my workouts. My Friday i wanted to rip out someones throat for a piece of bread. My wife I an went to Longhorn for our anniversary and i had a big steak and a sweet potato (and a lite beer:D) and all was good.

Had two days of carbs to start the week, and actually felt like King Kong for once in a long while. My workout partner is back on day shift so its time to get bananas again. lol it'll be interesting to see how my workouts progress in regards to strength with nothing but testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and while I'm carb cycling to drop BF%.

One thing that did happen that was kind of weird. Monday was my high carb day (350g). About half way thru my third meal, i started having hypo feelings. Shaky hands, cold sweats, etc. I know what they are as I have experience with Slin.

Asked my trainer, he wasn't sure why, but I can only think of the reinitroduction of heavy carbs made my Insulin spike too high. No biggie, had a Dr. Pepper and all was fine in a few minutes. Just thought I'd mention it cuz it was strange.

As for the shaky hands etc with the carbs, I think you hit it right on the head, you body probably wasnt used to all the sugar as well as the insulin spike. 7-8lb loss is nothing to sneeze at though, shows was dedication can do.

Do you ever feel naseus from low carbs? I always got that as well.

not really that i can think of. Again, this was the first time i have done NO carbs, esp for 12 days. but even though, no nausea. just pissed offedness. lol
 
So i started off hating today even more than my lowest carb day cuz i had to wait until my third meal to get any fucking carbs. lol But after that, i felt great. Really havin fun with this new diet.

I have read that old,very old bodybuilders from the 1800 would drink beer,and that was there secret, alot has changed, but what do u think about that?

Anyway, this weekend went fine. Had a few beers and some oysters, then cheated a lil when we got home as it was late.

Back on the horse today and ready to do some legs. A guy that works with my partner is 'supposed' to workout with us tonight.

Now, were not beasts, but this will be the 3rd guy to try and train legs with us. Not one of them came back a second time. lol
