I do the high row after my deads and bent rows and I can still get a good clean 6 with 5 plates, or 10 with 205 (4 plates & a quarter), that is with straps. I dont pull these ultra slow but if and when I get a good amount of strength I will need to do so obviously, but I consider it a clean rep.
Once I put straps in my routine my back strength shot up bigtime, I was dealing with bent barbells all the time torsion twisting out of my hands holding my rows to no more than 285 for my sets, I couldn't hold the shit. So once I went straps, back lifts are my strongest lifts (other than my dead I spose).
I've been clean for a week now so I'm not looking for PRs anytime soon, but just to maintain my strength, obviously too soon to tell how that will do. For me my back is reasonably strong compared to the rest of my numbers. I still feel small, but FWIW I have a relaxed, 51" chest measurement, after having lost almost 20 pounds (dieting down).
